In a unique partnership with Square-Enix, Nintendo of America will publish Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies in the Americas when the game arrives in summer 2010. Dragon Quest IX has sold more than 4.15 million copies in the Japanese market. Nintendo and Square-Enix will now work together to bring this title to the Nintendo DS consumer base in the Americas.

I wonder if the same people that are working on Lufia II DS were involved with Dragon Quest 9...

Haha, I doubt it Draygone, the people making Lufia 2 DS are the same people who made the original Lufia 2. Dragon Quest IX is probably made by some random SE team.

Well then they must've all went to the same concept meeting. Come on, these series are supposed to be turn-based affairs!

Well, they need to do SOMETHING different. The old formula was driving me freaking insane. I just about couldn't finish DQ8.

I thought it was more because of the fetch quests.

That's the majority of the problem. The other problems are how expensive equpiment is. I don't think I've ever been able to play a DQ game and at ANY point be able to afford to outfit my party with the latest stuff. And the fact that they will kill half your money when you game over? I reset anyways. And the grinding... oh the grinding. If I wanted to grind THAT much, I'd play a MMO.

I bet the sellback for some of those items wasn't even 50 percent.

Hell, Children of Mana...hours of grinding for level-restricted gear, and if I wanted to move up and sell my old gear, I'd only get 10 percent back of what I paid.

I somehow doubt that'll be entirely fixed for this one.

While I myself do like the Dragon Quest games, and have pretty much played them all (save for 5, 6, and the spinoffs), the only one I've managed to finish was the first one. Maybe I should give this one a miss.

Yeah, I think I'm done with the series.
