Yeah, Galaxy has some really nice and memorable songs. You don't find that often in games today. Seriously, someone tell me ONE track from any of the past games coming out.

Though honestly... I think the best two soundtracks I've heard in YEARS are the soundtracks to Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Beyond Good and Evil. (links go to playlists at youtube with the FULL soundtracks to both games... give them a listen)

Actually, Mario Galaxy is awesome all the way through. I don't think there is a single track in there that I didn't like.

Too bad you couldn't say the same with Super Mario Sunshine.

Super Mario Sunshine final level (Corona Mountain):

Is there even a melody in there?

Super Mario Galaxy final level (Bowser's Galaxy Reactor):

Level design was leagues ahead, too, actually.

Is it just me or does the Corona Mountain theme sound very similar to Smithy's battle theme? especially the bass in the background.

And I agree hat SMG has a very good soundtrack (my favorite track being Gusty Gardens), but you guys are all forgetting Shadow of the Colossus!
