a new genre of game.

we have many games out there.

fps's. rpg's. puzzle games. sports and driving sims. strategy games. all kinds.

even surgery games...

it made me think. if you could invent an entire NEW GENRE of game, what would it be like?

i thought about this, and im still thinking. im trying to think of things in real life are fun. im trying to imagine something crazy.

so yeah... suggestions ofr an entire new genre.

anyone?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................well, I'm almost completely stumped. Real life situations that are fun for me aren't....shall we say "appropriate" for the youth of america, nor ready to be made into a genre...

*Edit: O.k., I've managed to come up with something halfway decent. Its not a genre really...just a cool game idea I spose: Be God. Not like a world creation process thing, a world Moderation and control thing...

Hmm there could be a shopping genre. I think there should be a street genre. Well ghetto is the best word for it, that will get alot of attention.

of course, the other way to go here is to make a genre so TOTALLY UNLIKE real life its fun.

well, like termite farming. you know. like a god sim, but with vicious little inselcts. but... actually, not just termites. i mean, you can reaise whatever you want.

in fact, like sim city or something. but with an actual ecosystem. and you could teach the kids some sh*t while you're at it. you know. ecofriendly.




another that came to me was a ballroom dancing sim.

only, as you fail more, you get older. UNTIL YOU LOOK ALL OLD AND THEN YOU DIE!!!

How about the corporate world sim, that could be fun. Its almost like Enron, except with less/more people committing suicide.

It must feel really good to have even the CAPABILITY to say something like that. Money.
Or maybe *random* a game where you're a bank guard eating a donut and all the sudden you're being robbed and you have to save the day and lose 5 pounds for the company picnic on Fri.....its like GTA right?

I weird one would be a mix of all the genres.

The whole "god" concept was already made into a game in Japan. Mattel made Barbie shopping games.

Yes, that includes rpg maker series. You can be a god or not but either you are one in the game.
