So me and my GF have been playing it for a while, when we can because THE DAMN GAME REFUSES TO PLAY. It keeps giving us DRE's up the wazzoo, which is annoying as hell, because I've cleaned the lens, I've resurfaced the disc, and I've vacuumed out every friggin speck of dust that GD PS2, but it still won't read the disc! On top of that, her "new" playstaton has no qualms about playing the game. W. T. F.

I've come to the conclusion that I need to have a net work addapter installed on my PS2 for it to even RUN. So I would like to ask everyone that has CoN to remove their network addpter (if you have one installed), and try to play Norrath. I want to find out if THAT is the culprit. Seriously, this is driving me nuts.

If I recall, that game is on a dual-layered disk. I believe those are about as problematic as blue disks.

Yeah, the PS2 is an unreliable piece of crap.

yeah, well, at least I could get the blue ones to run almost reliably on the damn thing.

How ever, that asside, that point didn't occur to me. It would explain why the data side is tinted orange very slightly, and also why My girlfriends NEW PS2 runs it whilst mine does not. The network card explination was not as air tight as I wanted it to be. This is pretty solid.

The next question is: "is there any (cheap, preferably) way to make sure my older playstation will play dual layerd disks more reliably?"

take it apart and clean the lens with a cotton swabs. Many guides online, but if it's still under warranty taking it apart breaks it.

I just traded my non-disc reading one at gamestop and got a new PS2.
