Check out this new level creator Sega put up. You have to subscribe to make levels, but you can play others for free. Look at the graphics and listen to the music. It looks and sounds like....classic Sonic!

Look at it. It's so colorful. There's no gray/black human cities. There's no vocals in the music.

That's amazing, man. I'm going to have to hit that up today. I'm sure though that if it can support THAT controller, that it'll support any USB controller... which is why I'll be using it with my PS2 controller. Though if it's free, I'm not going to complain.

Anyway, I'll post again after playing around with it.

Now if only Nintendo would do the same. Though, they'd have to compete with Lunar Magic.

They said they had a free 5-day trial to mess around their site, but the second I went to the level editor, I got re-directed to a billing page... screw that.

The levels are kind of fun though.

I just got the controller in the mail. Here's a picture with size reference.



It's as comfortable as it looks. That is, it's as comfortable as controllers tended to be back in the 8- and 16-bit eras. That is, it's not. But it's not uncomfortable, either. Sorta in-between, where you notice the lack of comfort easily enough, but quickly get used to it once you start using it. Works just fine, though. I managed to use it on both regular games and the games on Sega's site, there. However, it would seem that you cannot play the edited levels with it. Maybe that'll be fixed later, but it's a bit of an inconvenience.

Interestingly, the design's slightly different than what's in the picture up there. The arrangement's the same, including the shoulder buttons that are hidden in my shot, but the buttons have labels, including symbols that are apparently for video usage (play, stop, rewind, etc.), and the start button is red instead of blue.
