My cousin's 360 died, my other cousin's 360 died. I can't remember if my brother's did or not, and I think Insultobot said his did as well. Now mine is also dead. Is this a freaking requirement of owning a 360 that you have to deal with this BULLSPIT! Don't answer that because, duh!, the answer is yes.

Does anyone know if it is warrantied. I bought it in October 2007 so it is past the one year warranty. I heard that it was extended to three years or for an additional 3 years. I don't know if that means 3 years total or 4 years total. Does anyone know if that is true.

Yes, this is very unnecessary, considering the 360 has been out for nearly 4 years. Shame.

oh and I know personally 3 people with broken 360s. Most common problem is the disc won't read. Like mine decided to do on friday. So I am gonna fix it by replacing the lens.

Sucks about the RRoD Bo. Not that I doubt your skills but you gotta ask this first: Did you check that the A/V cable is in all the way? If it isn't you will get that error. Also, try disconnecting the hard drive and any other devices or peripherals plugged into it and then start it up without them. Then reconnect them and try again. The E74 should be an input output error so I am just guessing here with the hard drive and stuff. Worth a try, no?

Well I unplugged the power and ethernet cable but not the a/v cable but then I did hear that the error I got maybe was an a/v issue so I decided that I would try that and also probably disconnecting the hard drive. I just haven't got aroung to it because I have been so frustrated I wanted to mentally prepare myself for the worst. But yes I will try these things before sending it it if it is still under warranty. Thanks.

I got my 360 in late 08 (like a few months before L4D) and so far I haven't had any issues. There's freezing issues with very specific games like Magic The Gathering every now and then why I try to start a co-op game, but that's generally it. Also, I don't know any friends IRL to have had RRoD either. But I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky... and I knock on wood daily. I hope you are able to get your box back up.

Well, I got my new DVD drive in the mail and replaced the old one. Good as new.
