In here we will all submit our mini reviews of all the downloadable games from the Playstation Store, WiiWare and Virtual Console, and XBox Live Arcade and XBox Community games.

Playstation Store
Age of Booty by Duel

WiiWare and Wii VC
no reviews submitted
write a review to add to this

XBLA and Community Games
Age of Booty by Duel (reviewed on PS3 version)
Peggle by insultobot
Solar by insultobot

Please feel free to add to this with all of your mini reviews and I will list them in the above list (its obviously empty right now :P) and link directly to the post from the list.

They can be as long or as short as you like. My first mini review is little more than a paragraph, so there's no pressure to write a book here. If someone already made a mini review for a game you think needs more said about it, or if you simply disagree with another reviewer and want to make your own, go for it. There is no One Review to Rule them All. I will link to both and let the readers decide which reviewer fits their gaming tastes.

Peggle might first strike you as a cutesy wutesy game geared towards barbie loving preschoolers, but don't let this false face turn you away. This game has appearently been around for at least 1000 years on pc, but this is the first instance I have heard of it.

Released 11th of March, 2009 for the xbla, Peggle takes Blinko from the Price is Right and mixes it with Bust-A-Move and pinball while still being stylish and original. You control a cannon right out of Bust-A-Move on the top of the screen and the goal is to shoot pinballs at pegs and eliminate all of the orange pegs. Pegs come in multiple forms. You have your standard blue peg that does less than cushion your score and bounce your pinball. Then there are purple and green pegs, as well as others that do things such as boost your score by a rather large number or give you skills like seeing the pinball's trajectory before shooting or turning it into a fireball that burns through pegs without bouncing off of them. The trial lets you complete the first set of levels (the unicorn levels)
as well as try the first three challenges. In the full game you play fifty-five stages, multiple challenges and also multiplayer modes which I have not yet had the chance to try.

After playing through the trial a couple times, I decided to purchase the full game as I love the Bust-A-Move style games and this one brings not only classic gaming feel, but also a very unique take.

I give it: (Out of 5 in a made up scale)
Fun- :D :D :D :D
Humor- :lol :lol
Style- :shades :shades :shades :shades :shades
Controls- :) :) :) :)

Plundering never gets old. Whether it be a village, a town, or an enemy ship, plundering is a pirate's past-time. Age of Booty is a nicely-priced real-time strategy game that will satisfy your hunger to plunder. You'll start out in the middle of a map sailing against an enemy pirate as you battle it out for control over the towns that are begging to be taken. Along the way you'll pick up power-ups and collect resources in order to upgrade your ship from a weak sailboat to an overpowered king of the sea. There are quite a few challenges to sink your teeth into but the REAL meat of the game is in the intense online play. Strategy is obviously a must and communicating with your team is essential if you want to achieve victory. You also have a map editor if you really want to be creative and show off to your friends.

The graphics aren't bad but with that being said they aren't all that great either. The ships and everything else but the water could have really used better detail but I won't complain. Honestly, it's a great game if you want some strategy and it's just fun as hell once you're online with up to 8 people.

4/5

In this game, you control a yellow star. Roam the infinite (YES infinite) space trapping planets in your gravity and moons in theirs. You can have the planets absorb their moons and gain in mass and you in turn may absorb the planets to grow as well, changing into a red giant. If you collide violently with other stars and planets, you will take "damage" and reduce in size and solar class. Speed around the galaxy too fast and your planets will be flung out of your gravitational field.

This game is just a very fun sandbox solar-sim. Never thought I would say that in my life lol. I paid the $2.50 and I am happy with the purchase. Check out the trial for sure.

Sound- sounds better than real space!
