It's console arrival is near. I've been waiting for a true SF sequel since SF3, which by the way, is one of my favorites. It'll be interesting to see what the new fighters will bring and how well experienced players will use them. The character I'll be using is Honda, he's my main and I have the most fun using him. He's also great to take down those damn shoto players.

Sagat really likes cornflakes.

Forgot to mention that I'll be picking it up for PS3. Can't stand the 360's Dpad.

^this.

I'm glad someone feels the same. Though, again... I'll be picking it up on the console that more people here will be playing it on. It'd be nice to see a PS3 game in Mag Online.

Is the PS3 directionals an improvement over PS2's? Because I play fighting games on my DualShock 2 and it's terrible, it eats all my fingers up.

No, don't use joysticks at all... the D-pad is MUCH more friendly on the PS1/2/3 due to it not being perfectly circular in shape. When they are shaped like the 360's, you'll always end up hitting down or up when trying to hit left and right... and vise versa. The PS controllers are perfect for precision combo pressing.

I meant the standard PS2 controller...

Guess I'm just terrible at pressing, then. I can't pull off precision combos in the PS2 controller if my life depended on it.

Okay... how about this. In Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on 360, I absolutely have to rely on the analog because any time I try to do anything close to back, forward... I jump. No questions asked. And if I don't, I duck... either way, whatever it was I was trying to do doesn't work. Now if I can hold back and press forward without having to worry about the up or down directions also moving... I'm golden.

In KoF there are a lot of special moves that go like half-circle backward, diagonal back-down, forward. And I can't do that at all in the controller... Besides, even the staple stuff like quarter-circle forward burns by thumb away.
Oh, well... maybe I suck.

So I found out my brother picked this up for 360, I wasn't happy about that but it's his choice and I'll be getting it for PS3 so it doesn't really matter.

Anyway, playing this thing with the 360's Dpad is VERY tough so I decided to switch to the analog stick, was a more suitable input except for the fact that I'm terrible with it and I struggled to pull off Honda's specials. It seems to me that an arcade stick may be the solution.

I feel your pain. It was funny, I was looking up some videos the other day, and someone was showcasing fatalities in MK vs DC (I think it was Achievement Hunters or something) and they were playing the 360 version. He said that he couldn't do fatalities with the d-pad and had to hope he could pull them off with analog.
