Just picked it up yesterday. Been playing around with story mode a bit. Granted, I haven't made it too far in (Just through Cloud and Cecil's story's) but so far it's got me quite engrossed. The gameplay is excellent, and I'm glad to see that the character's aren't merely clone's of one another. They all have their strengths and weaknesses with (so far) none appearing completely superior to the others.

I have a lot more playing to do, but has anyone else given this one a go?

I am waiting to play it before I go out and buy it. Like I did with Crisis Core.

I've been playing too. And what's funny is that I had just finished Clouds and Cecil's story arc too. I've got to say, if THAT is what the easiest difficulty story arc is, I'm in a bit of trouble. Clould's final fight was a b*tch. Did you check the boss' accessories before the fight? Holy crap! No wonder he was killing me with only 1 HP left.

One thing I don't like is that after you beat just one story arc, it looks like the final arc is open to play. Something I think shouldn't be open till after you beat EVERYONE'S story arc. But that's just me. The battle is somewhat interesting. Seeing how everyone plays the same way but with different moves reminds me of SSBB. But it's not locked to a 2D plane... and it works for the most part.

The only real problem is that I think the draw to this game is kind of the same reason for Kindom Hearts, "OMG, all these characters in one game." It's the video game equivolent of a freaking fan fic. And I have a hard time seeing it any other way.

Outside of that, it is kind of fun. They added quite a bit of content with shopes, equipment, summons, levels, blah, blah, blah... so there is quite a bit to do. I just hope I get better for the 6 star difficulty arcs. =(

::edit::

Just beat the game. Holy sh*t that final fight is just about as hard as it can possibly get... and I was level 50 on Terra. The only help I can give you is to make sure your base Bravery is as absolutely high as possible. Also, you honestly just have to have a sh*t ton of luck too. If your base value of bravery isn't at least 1000, you are going to be in a lot of trouble. Yeah, crazy, I know... but there's just no way to survive long enough in the final fight to widdle his HP down with any lower brave.

Overall, I do like this game. And there's a good deal of replay value. I bet playing online is actually pretty fun in this game too. Also, as a side note... the music is about as awesome as it can get. It was all re-made from all 10 of the FF games and I was able to recognize every single one. It was kind of like in Star Ocean 4 when in one dungeon they had a remake of the Star Ocean 2 battle theme going... but for every track in the game. Really awesome.

Also, just a little hint... there are two secret charactes to unlock. One from FF11 and another from FF12. Kind of neat.

I like this game, but they really need to nerf the difficulty.

Okay, even after having beat the game, I'm still going back to it. This is a great game... and absolutely perfect for a handheld. I find myself busting out the PSP every now and then to gain a few extra levels on any one character.

Oh and in my previous post I talked about how much the music enthralled me... well here:

Dissidia: Final Fantasy OST

Enjoy...

::edit::

Just realized that half the characters aren't showing up in winamp, so here's a .docx with the correct track list.

Gotta say, I love it
Yeah it's pretty much just a giant fan service....but, it does extremely well at that.

Loves me some Firion btw.
