I was just recently playing Halo 3 again for good measure since I hadn't played in a year. I started on Legendary since I figured I played enough shooters in recent times to be able to take it on without much trouble. I was wrong on so many levels. It took me two hours to get through the first level, which is pretty standard for the average player. Well, I get to the second level (on the ship) and I got to the part where you have to fight the brutes alone in a room. Well, there's about 10-12 brutes in there and I'm stuck with an assault rifle and a battle rifle with only 4 grenades (2 frag, 2 shrapnel stickies). Well, I take on the brutes for TWO AND A HALF HOURS before finally winning.... only to get a desperate last second grenade lobbed and stuck to my body and blows me up, destroying my morale. So, I tried again, but failed for another 30 minutes, totaling me up to 3 hours of just ONE spot on the ship. I was frustrated just quit a little bit ago.

So, what are some frustrating video game moments in recent memory or in the past that you can remember?

Every other boss in Super Mario RPG.

No, seriously. When it's your very first time playing an RPG and you're on your 7th attempt against foes like Bowyer, by that point you're probably growling at the game like I was. :P

That one guy in Chrono Cross, can't remember if it was Dario or Gario or Bario or whatever. He is a b*tch. And completely impossible to beat, because the game forces you to spend one of your three character slots with one of the most useless persons ever.

Also, there is nothing like you happily building up your civilization and steadily preparing your army in a RTS game when suddenly two thousand enemy soldiers appear out of nowhere, 3x more updgraded than your best soldiers, and totally wreck your thing.
Warcraft 3 gave me traumas.

Heh, I feel you Gnasher. I want to like the RTS genre so badly, but it's stuff like that that'll crush your spirits.

I think the most recent frustration I have had was doing the Goron Race in Majora's Mask. Not sure why it got me so worked up either.

Though (and I know you guys knew this was coming) the most frustrating thing I think I've put myself through was Devil May Cry 4's Hell and Hell mode (hard mode but you die in one hit from anything).

Oh, and ANY campagin on Expert on Left 4 Dead... it's not as frustrating when you are playing with other people, but still... after your 50th try on the heli-pad in No Mercy, you start to get a little fed up with it all.

Fire Emblem. It sucks to get so far in a level and have to restart it constantly because your units keep dying.

One particular frustrating moment was in Parasite Eve. I had finished off a boss and had to escape from the top of a building. Problem was, I didn't know how to get off, since my way in wasn't my way out. I died an haven't touched the game since.

And I'm always deeply angry when I don't know where to go.

Playing Soul Calibur 4 two player with my buddie the other day. We do random characters, 3 rounds for a win, and we can't change characters until we each win once. First to 30. I got Rock 3 times in a row! He got like 10+ wins ahead of me. Then I got Xaingue (or however you spell it.) She's one of my best characters and won 17 straight. Oh, the glory. Still a very frusterating begining of the night.

I'm doing it yet again. 2+ hours on one spot in Halo 3 and I'm in worse shape this time than the other. I have no other weapons to pick up unless I take a risk, but it's very easy to die here as there is a Wraith. I already started over once, I don't intend to do it again.

Are you sure that you are using the right weapons on the right enemies or
exploring the environment to look for more powerful weapons/better angles than you thought was there or ways to sneak around the enemies?
I hate to say it, but Armored Core 3: SL is a pain in the ole arse because There comes a point when the missions are just TOO IMPOSSIBLE. The game is all about putting out "brush fires", which would be fine, except they usually pop up just when you thought the level was over, and almost ALLWAYS on the other freakin' end of the map. So you always show up having to put it out on a schedule AND low on supplies. Now in the other AC games, you could remedy this situation by participating in the arena to make money, but this game shuts you out of competition if your mission ratings aren't up to snuff. (which is usually)
