Think of we gamers, your consumers, as a giant slice of bread. Now... think of your products, being your games, as butter.

Most people prefer buttered toast spread evenly, to get an all around buttery taste per bite. If you just lump a hill of butter on any one area, then not only do you have almost no flavor on your toast, but the place that does have flavor, has too much.

What I'm trying to say is this:

SPREAD THAT SHIZ OUT!

I was in Gamestop today. I wanted a new game... but lo and behold, I had before me many games. Dead Space, Fallout 3, Rockband 2, and LittleBigPlanet. At home I still have Disgaea 3 and Star Ocean: First Departure to play.

It seems that this time of year the game developers just kind of dump out everything the've been working on for the year. And it's a bit too early to say it's for the holidays. Never the less. I stand in Gamestop wondering what to pick.

I ended up leaving with Dead Space and lammenting leaving LittleBigPlanet and Rockband 2. I just kind of whish that some of these titles were released in the first and second quarter of the year so as to not be bombarded with too much awesome at once. But all the titles mentioned so far came out within what? A month?

Ah well...

I do sympathize, but I will note that the games will still be there later and probably for less money.

Do you have to play everything right when it comes out?

The companies count on this and therefore put out as many games as possible, especially around the holidays, because they don't care about how many people play their games nearly as much as how many people buy their games, especially for $60.

Since most people have to have the games right when they come out, the consumer enables and gives incentive to the companies to put out as many games as possible instead of spreading them out for gamers to have time to play.

Actually, I think I'm saying this more allong the lines of I wish there were more good games throught the year instead of heaping them together at once.

The second quarter of the year is usually quite a doldrum...

Well, I do agree with that, but what I am saying is that for next year when there is nothing to play during the second quarter, get the games that are attracting you now (i.e. the ones that you are presently not buying but really want).

That's true... assuming you didn't blow through all the new titles released one after another. Doing as such would probably keep you entertained as far as March... tops.

A little show in restraint will probably stretch that out to the end of first quarter.

Plus there's the fact that it means you had to turn down a chance to play one of those games you were looking forward to.

Omg, it me and Bo in comic form... if we were in back in 2004.

Anyway, I don't really have any other choise but to wait. Specially since I can finally get some work done in RM1 (all games take the back-burner when I'm given work to do on it). I just beat Star Ocean, so I'm at a good place to hold off on games for a while anyway. And I told SK I wouldn't continue Dead Space till he could stop by again.

^ :lol

Have you thought about renting any of the games you are interested in? That way you can get your feet wet and not miss out on the launch (and possibly realize that maybe a particular game really isn't worth buying) but then you can go back to playing your main game for awhile without the mystery of if you are missing out or not. I'm sure that can backfire though.
