Okay, we are talking pre (soon to be post) apocalyptic here. Let's say that in your house, you have one of every console known to man dating as far back as the Atari 2600. A nuke is on it's way to you local area and you only have time to bundle up one console in your arms after shoving a hand held in your pocket before bolting to the nearest bunker with your family. Luckly, you were smart in moving your entire gaming collection for all consoles and hand helds (which happens to be just about every title under the sun, as well as controllers and chargers for your hand helds. And for the hell of it, instruments from Hero/Band) to said bunker.

The question is, with your vast collection of gaming equipment, what did you take with you?

Seeing as it is now post apocalyptic times, you probably won't have internet up and running, so whatever you chose will not have online functionality (in truth, you wouldn't have electricity... hell, you probably wouldn't even have your life, but for sake of argument, let's just go with the bare minimum of electricity and TV). Remember, your family is with you... so multi-player is something to consider. Also, you didn't have enough time to get your PC moved, so it was toasted with everything else.

My console would be the PS3. It was kind of hard to pick this out of them until I considered the backwards compatability. So it would be as if I had a PS 1, 2 and 3. And most of my favorite games end up on those platforms. Of course I give out on SNES (I'll get to that in a second), and all the newest wii games... but luckly, there's usually a PS3 version of most 360 games.

My handheld was close... but I ended up going with PSP. If it were for the games alone, it would have been the DS... but here's were the SNES part kicks in. A modded PSP can play a number of emulators. Which means I can manage NES, SNES, Sega, GBA, ect. And I'd give up the DS for those.

That is a hard choice. I would probably also take the PS3, after a hard look at the SNES.The PS3 means 3 generations of games that are perfectly emulated because of the emotion engine within.

Even though the SNES has a host of legendary games, why not play 3 gens worth of them?

It would break my heart.

For handheld, I think I'd do the same. PSP is basically a motherfuggin win for your old games. You'd be happy happy.

I would no dount yake my original Gameboy with me.

As for the system, likely I'd take the N64, with a heavy heart I would miss my PS2 and SNES. I have so many old N64 games that I still play regularly (and the fact it's never been unhooked from my TV since I got it back in 99), and it's the obvious choice.

It's tough. I'd love to have Halo and I'd love to have Animal Crossing but I think I'd have to go with PS2 because of the RPGMs 1-3 (although mine won't play RPGM2 anymore), e Jay Clubworld (so I'd have house, techno, and trance music too) and all my favorite survival horror games, not to mention some good RPGS or replayble games like Ace Combats 4 and 5.

I don't have a PS3, but for all you who do, make sure it is the backward compatible model before choosing it, lest you be stuck with PS3 games only. :lol
