chrono-psx1.pngThe E3 demo of Chrono Trigger DS starts off with the anime scenes from the Playstation port. When you start a new game, you see the silent protagonist on the top screen and name the character on the touch screen. Going with “Chronoâ€

Okay, I'm more interested. And hey, a "purists" version of the game, which may or may not include those animated cutscenes. I'm looking forward to seeing how well this'll get translated into a DS game. If they work it right, it may appear like it was meant to be on the DS.

While it was not implemented at this point, a Square Enix representative said, there are plans to include the original single-screen version for purists. This will allow players to have the same gameplay experience as the Super Nintendo title. Details on the Wi-Fi features have yet to be revealed.

You just don't understand how much I was beating myself up over this. At first I was like, "OMG. All this new stuff is just freaking amazing." But I was also being torn appart because I was really hoping it would go back to it's roots like the original... which, apparently it does. *Uber-squee*

Also, if the text for Chrono Trigger DS is as different as the text of Final Fantasy Tactics to it's PSP counter part... I'm quite satisfied.

Makes me want to try it. I didn't play any of the other versions. (I might have started a game on PSX, but that's all)

I'm am really hesistant to being overly cynical so much today (or is it lately?) (I really am), but I just have to say why can't the Square Enix representative say a single screen game WILL be included, or if they are not sure, maybe he could say we would like to include a single screen version but are looking into its feasibility or whether or not we could make money holding onto to the single screen version for a later charge, release, etc.

Their language, "there are plans" (unless the reporter is doing a bad job of conveying what was specfically said as it wasn't in quotes) is very open ended. These plans exist to be sure but can be scrapped, modified, etc.

They want to have their cake and eat it too or is it not buy the cow when they can get the milk for free. In other words, if the company can 'promise' without commiting, be carefull not to fall for their seduction.

That having been said, I am still happy for y'all fanboys and fangirls who seem to be happy with the direction the game is headed.

I honestly didn't find the PSX version of Chrono Trigger that bad...maybe it was the only version of it I played, I dunno.

The PS1 version is the only one I played, and look how much I like it. (I don't.)

Lmao, if you only knew how many times I've completed that game. I'm serious. I abused the hell out of game plus mode. I've got every ending multiple times.

They say there's 10 endings. Which is true, but you can get varriations of the same ending with a few differences. If you count those differences as a different ending, there's more like 14.

I was LOOKING for extra ending. Like
leave Crono dead, Never pick up Robo when he tries to revive the forest, and kill Magus. I was pimping out Frog with all the females of the game.... woot.
