I've ignored this series for quite some time. But after getting hooked on to Advance Wars again I decided to play this series since I heard it was similar to Advance Wars. I picked up Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones for GBA and it's really good. I like and hate how if a teammate is killed, they are gone forever.

Yeah, it really does make you curse and scream but it also makes the game fiercely strategic, since you actually care about the characters and don't want them to die.

jesus christ, this is the game im playing too. ive never been so thrashed by a game since nocturne.

i am stuck on the sand battle, you cant miss it. ive done the battle 2940259259 times in a hundred different ways. ive done it so much that i know every move off by heard including how much damage ill most likely receive. i get right to the end and get smashed by a critical that instantly kills my most strongest men. needless to say that i put myself out of my misery and stopped playing it.

i hope you have better luck. as soon as you can go and level up your character in the optional battles. that is the only way you can overcome some cheapness the game has. very often you will find yourself in a pinch and wish you hadnt over extended your army or wishing you spent more time leveling.

only being able to save at certain times is what hurt this game the most. battles that are an hour long become tiring when you have to keep doing the same parts endlessly.

One of my characters died so I have to restart >_>

just restart the chapter, dont restart the whole game. your save is only considered a quick save i think. you will begin to feel the crunch after a few more chapters.

Y'all are complaining about this, but Sacred Stones is the EASIEST Fire Emblem game in the US.

I would suggest not picking up Radiant Dawn, if I were you. I think it's the hardest Fire Emblem I've played in English.

I played the Gamecube version and found it neither to be very strategic or fun. My friend is a nut for the series though: he owns them all in the US.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is easy. Lol, that bothered me for a while.

easy if you like having people die perminately and easy if you like missing things. easy is not a word i would ever use in any sentence containing fire emblem. unless its to say the game easily destroyed my life.

No, I didn't say Sacred Stones WAS easy. I said it was the easiest FE game in the States.

Like on a difficulty scale, SS would be like a 7 compared to Radiant Dawn (9).

Also, use Ross. He's a trainee character. He gets 10 extra levels on other characters.

I've tried playing Sacred Stones, didn't like it. But then again, I don't like any strategy game. Heck, I don't play even chess.

You gotta give FE one thing, though. That series has got one of the greatest character designs I've ever seen.
