+ No fudging by skipping your turn and allowing the enemy to attack planets you control (thus providing an opportunity to score more points and awards). Game must be played with an intent to win.

Favorite Faction - CIS
The robots are very competent fighters and often don't need my help to win. I can be off sniping somewhere or engaging the enemy head on, secure in the knowledge that our command posts are well defended and my allies have my back covered. The Super Battle Droid, Assassin Droid, and Engineer Droid are all very efficient fighters. I have gotten the most incidental dialogue while playing these guys (incidental dialogue is when an ally sees you making a lot of kills or doing something laudable and comments on it).

In sharp contrast, the Republic, Rebels, and Empire often need my help to win, and sometimes I'm the last guy standing. I've had to take on 30 to 40 guys by myself from time to time because my allies are a bunch of dimwits who get killed like cannon fodder and can't seem to defend our command posts. Some battles are very difficult for these guys to win at all.

The Super Battle Droid is unerringly accurate. His shots always fly straight to the center of the target reticule. The rest of these dimwits do the "spray and pray" thing. I can have the reticule centered on a target, and a good 50% of my guy's shots are going to the left, the right, hitting the ground, everywhere except the target. This is true of Clone Troopers, Rebel Troopers, and Stormtroopers.

Favorite Starfighter - CIS Droid Tri-Fighter
The Tri-Fighter is very fast, turns on a dime, and it's small (a hard target). A skilled Tri-Fighter pilot can dominate the battle, racking up kill after kill with ease. The powerful main gun can take out ARC-170s on sight. Its missiles have a high hit rate, and the Tri-Fighter gets an automatic lock-on. Other starfighter pilots have to hold the reticule over a target for a couple seconds to get a lock-on. The Tri-Fighter's missiles are devastating on ARC-170s and Republic Starfighters. Less effective against V-Wings, but that's what the main gun is for (just slow down a bit or your ship's speed will carry you past him).

Least Favorite Starfighter - Republic Starfighter (Or "Jedi Starfighter")
While this little ship shares many traits with the Tri-Fighter, it's not as effective on the whole. It's very fast, turns well, and it's small. The main guns are a bit more effective than the Tri-Fighter's main gun, but its homing rockets are easily dodged and are next to useless at range. In contrast, the Tri-Fighter is effective both at range and up close.

Other Starfighters
The ARC-170 is a big target, what with all those useless wings. Easy target for the Tri-Fighter's main gun. Still, I found it to be more effective than the Republic Starfighter. Its capabilities are similar to an X-Wing. Decently effective at range and up close.

The V-Wing is exceptionally durable for a one-man fighter, but it's a bomber (no missiles). Same goes for the CIS Strike Bomber, Y-Wing, and Tie Bomber. They're almost useless in a dogfight because of slow rate of fire. Gotta be very accurate with your shooting.

All of the Tie Fighters seem to be much less durable than other fighter craft. It doesn't take much to kill 'em. An X-Wing with its mediocre laser cannons can take down a Tie Bomber with ease. Other bombers are more difficult to take down. Y-Wing pilots are unnaturally accurate with their main guns (they're the bane of my Imperial existence).

When they're not getting shot down, Tie Fighters are very effective, inflicting maximum damage with their rapid-fire lasers.

X-Wings are very mediocre. Decent at best. Laser cannons are less effective than Tie Fighters, and missiles have a decent hit rate (sometimes they hit, other times they're dodged).

The Tie Interceptor and A-Wing share traits with the Republic Starfighter (including those awful homing rockets that are easily dodged).

The CIS Droid Gunship is the best troop transport. This is what a troop transport should be like. It's sleek and flat, not overly bulky, no useless wings sprouting in every direction that make flying into a cap ship's hangar bay hazardous. I crashed many times while trying to maneuver those bulky LAATs into a hangar bay. The Imperial Landing Craft has useless wings sprouting in every direction. Bleh.

Favorite Battlefield - Polis Massa
There are a couple great ambush positions where I can set myself up and mow everyone down as they round a corner or enter a room. Behind these ambush positions is a staircase that leads to a room that ally and enemy rarely enter. This room has a health droid and ammo droid, and I've got the place all to myself. If I get badly wounded or run out of ammo, just retreat back into that little room, stoke up, then get back to my ambush position. Mega fun.

Least Favorite Battlefield - Dagobah
It's difficult to stay alive here, what with all the command posts being out in the open and nowhere to hide. I often get caught in crossfire from multiple directions.

Other Battlefields

Kashyyyk - A sniper's heaven.

Utapau - Great sniping position for CIS and Rebels. Poor for Republic and Empire.

Mustafar - Great sniping position. It's on the platform where Obi-Wan and Anakin fought. Especially for Rebels and Republic. Run out there at the start of the battle. You've got two command posts in sight. Snipe 'em as they spawn.

I've also found good sniping positions on Naboo, Coruscant, and Kamino.

Felucia, Yavin 4, and Mygeeto - Great for the Engineer. Vehicles to slice, and lots of open space between command posts for shotgunning.

Coruscant - Full of good ambush positions.

Things You Just Gotta Love

Enemies (and sometimes allies, for that matter) sometimes go grenade happy. Yeah, let's fill the room with grenades, blowing up the health and ammo droids! Thanks, guys. I might need those droids later.

I was working on capturing a command post. A Droideka rolls up next to me, staying in ball form. Umm... dude? Wouldn't hurt to uncurl and put up your shield... you know, in case someone shows up and starts shooting at us?

My allies blow up a tank or other vehicle when I'm 90% finished slicing it. Someone had the audacity to say to me, "Stop wasting time and take out that tank!" Umm, I had the situation under control, guys. Another 10% and the vehicle would've been disabled.

I often go on a tour of the battlefield, capturing command posts and gaining ground only to look up at the radar display and notice that we now control all of the enemy's command posts and they control ours. We switched sides!

I'll sometimes be out in the thick of things, going up against what feels like the whole army by myself. I'm surrounded by guys who are trying to kill me, they just keep coming, and my allies are nowhere in sight. Where are all my guys? I get killed and finally notice that my side controls all of the command posts except one (which is in the area where I got killed). Oh. No wonder I was going up against the whole army by myself. I respawn at a command post, where I see some of my allies standing around playing grabass.

I have seen demolitions dudes set down mines or detpacks on the ground and then walk into them, blowing themselves up.

I have seen dudes toss grenades in rooms or confined areas, the grenade bounces off a wall and lands at the feet of the guy who tossed it. He shouts "Grenade!", tries to roll away, and gets blown up.

Favorite Incidental Dialogue

"You're a one droid army." - Battle Droid, watching me shotgun a bunch of clones.

"How are you doing that?" - Battle Droid, watching me go on a killing spree.

"You've already met your daily quota." - Battle Droid, watching me take names.

"I've lost count! How many does that make?" - Clone Trooper, watching me take names.

"We've got droids!" - Clone Trooper, seeing battle droids approaching. (Umm, ya think?)
