Brace yourself for a lot of question marks. ^^

What do you do to make sure you're buying a game you're gonna like? Watch videos on YouTube? Read reviews? See the news on IGN or GameSpot or whatever? Ask your friends at the RPG Maker Magazine? How can you be sure you're buying the right thing?

Another question, you buy only the games that get news, previews, fame, popularity, etc., or do you go for unknown, more alternative ones? If you do, where do you learn about the alternative games?

*phew*

Lotta questions there. I'll do my best. Ahem.

I prefer to go for the alternative titles rather than the big-hitters. And I find I have much more fun picking out rarer titles and playing them. How much a game is worth matters to me. If I'm playing a 20 game and a 40 game, chances are I'll pick the 40 game.

Has for how I come across these unknown titles....I really don't know. When I'm bored, I look for good game reviews on ign.

And how do I go about picking up a title I like? I have three gamestops, two local stores that sell old games, A fred meyer (whose co-worker could give me a deal if I ask), one gamecrazy and other such stores. And if all else fails, ebay.

And I read up on a lot of reviews. Sometimes I'll pick up a title even with lousy reviews, but I like to know well in advance just what I'm buying.

Well, first I walk back and forth three times, do my little rain dance, spin in a circle until I get dizzy, point out my finger and whatever it points at I get. Though, things get awkward when it points at a person. :blush

I used to rely on EGM, but I am getting tired of them. I'll probably look at gamespot. I think you can guess by the type/company/art/ description how good it will be.

If its a new game I look at some reviews and go to gametrailers.com for previews and other things. If its used I will find a cheaper price then buy it.

I never really take precautions when buying new games. If a game sucks, I take it like a man, cuz I'm a MAN!!!

Seriously, I care little about what other people say about games, because I don't like accepting judgements about games and I have an utter contempt for magazines. Sometimes, I will buy a game because it got bad reviews, or sold poorly. Heck, that's how I got Killer7 and Cubivore, and those two got poor/abyssmal reviews, but I love them.
