I was on youtube, and I came across a video... that video was of the final boss fight in Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest for the SNES. I own this game, (It's in a box somewhere in my room.) but I haven't played it in so many years. I'd like to share with you the awesomeness that was Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. Oh, and spoilers if you haven't beaten the game I guess.

The music is the best part.

Come on, a [spoiler]spider? And an octopus-like thing? Aren't those slightly lame forms for a last boss? Especially when it's Final Fantasy, the queen of bizarre last bosses.

The music does rock indeed. ^^

But the best part is in fact the animation for the King's 'Lazer' attack.

The game was made to attract more people to the RPG genre.

And get this: Nobuo Uematsu didn't even do the music for this game.

Yeah, because Nobuo Uematsu reserves himself for GOOD FF titles. There are so many thing wrong with this game, that I don't know where to begin.

But like you say, it's an RPG with training wheels to get people into the genre... of which I think failed. Not many people can say that Mystic Quest was their first RPG.

If anything, I can say that I'd play Mystic Quest again over Granstreamsaga... ¬_¬

Yeah, Mystic Quest was horrible. Not the worst RPG I've ever played, but pretty close. It doesn't even deserve the name of Final Fantasy.

I actually thought the game was pretty good... It was no Lufia or Final Fantasy 6, but it was good.

When I played it, I didn't actually pay attention to the story. (Did it even have one? I don't remember.) But I payed the most attention to gameplay, since it was different than the other Final Fantasy's.

Oh, and I'd rather play this than Final Fantasy I or II

Gameplay? The enemies hold still. I mean, there's nothing to it.

And Final Fantasy II had a good story and a very unique battle system/leveling up system. And though FF1 was lacking in the story side of things, I'll be damned if I don't play it over 5 times before I play Mystic Quest once.

To each their own, I guess.

Facts. Mystic quest was gayer then a stack of strawberry pancakes. Now...how gay strawberry pancakes actually are is a good question..but I'm not going to get into that...nor am I going to get into the fact that I would never come up with such a nonsensical statement. I just going to say, that what was supposed to be said..has been said. Good Night and Good Luck.

Whatever... I probably like this game for the same reason why I hated Final Fantasy 7 and got so bored with Chrono Trigger that I quit playing.

You hate innovation and you like things that suck? (j/k)

But really, Mystic Quest sucks. I don't see how anyone could stand that game (I only played about 10 minutes of it, btw.)
