Sonic RPG anyone?

This could be freaking awesome! Do you have an official link to the announcement? (Just in case anyone comes in here asking.)

Since Bioware is working on this, then will it be similar in style to Western RPGs?

I'm not really sure how a Sonic RPG can be done.
The first Sonic game was made with plat-forming in-mind.
Switching to an RPG is a surprise to me.

This is cool. I'm not sure how it can be done either, but Bioware has made RPG's out of Star Wars, so I bet this'll work out fine.

There was actually metion of this in Game Informers newest issue... Personally I think if you can pull of a Mario RPG.... so can you a Sonic RPG.

Yup, and Sonic has a much cooler cast of characters.

Mallow didn't think he was a toad, it was a frog he thought he was! Don't talk about the game if you don't know it!

anyway, as for a Sonic RPG, I probably won't play it... Sonic games sucked after Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

Personally, I don't really care for the diffrences between toads and frogs, so I wouldn't call Gnasher totally wrong... Besides, wasn't the composer of the tapole pond called TOADofsky?

Just an observation.

Anyway, Mallow was the only character I really had a problem with. I think that there is a good chance the party will end up pretty close to Mario's honestly. Here's my guess.

Mario = Sonic
Peach = Amy Rose
Bowser = Knuckles
Mallow = Tales
Geno = Shadow

Well, at least off the top of my head anyway.

Ya know, I wonder what the story will be about. And I wonder if Chaos Emeralds will play a role in the actual gameplay or used as a plot device.

yeah, I'm pretty sure you'll have to collect the emeralds... to be sure.

I'm expecting that Sonic's repitwar to consist of being able to go super for a few turns as well...

Sounds like you guys are expecting this game to be like SMRPG. Since, if you put Lantis' character thing and then compare the Chaos Emeralds to the Seven Stars... You got a game pretty much based on SMRPG, story wise. Atleast you do the way I'm thinking about it.

Also, If was meant to be like SMRPG, I'd like to see Dr. Robotnik being the equivalent of Boswer.

Oh and Lantis, you seem to have forgotten that the leader of the Tadpole Pond was named FROGfuscius.

No... I do remember that... and that's fine as he claimed to be a frog and not a toad. But the fact that someone did have toad in their name at tadpole pond does give a bit of discredit to your argument... nothing more. ^_^

But yeah, I really doubt Sonic RPG will be as similar to Mario RPG as we are talking like. It would be neat, but I really dobut it.

Technically, all the mushroom folk in the Mario games are called Toads (especially the Paper Mario games, as they all have Toad as a last name).

Anyway, Mario RPG worked because turning it into an RPG didn't really take way from the Mario platforming formula. But Sonic is about speed. Unless you have a Tales of battle system, I doubt it'll translate near as well.

Incidentally, I've never realized how Toadofsky's name was "Toad of sky". I've been pronouncing it Toad-off-skee.

Yeah, good point about the battle system.

Maybe if they had a more Star Ocean: Till the End of Time system... only faster. But yeah... it'll not be easy.

Also, I say toad-off-skee as well...

I think I just like flying/floating characters. I've been a HUGE Peach fan since she was just Toadstool in SMB2.
