It's the one with Fayt, Sophia and Peppetia.

Anyway, I just want to let everyone know that if they haven't played it, they really should. It's not like Square's older projects, like Turn battle systems. Star Ocean 3 has a hack n slash battlem system. It's really cool, but there are a few problems with it.

First off, why the hell would you die if you ran out of MP? Seriously. If you use too much skills and "symboligy", you can run out of MP, which kills your dude.

Second, the game has a "Fury". So, if you have fury, then you can attack. No fury, you cannot attack.

So, anyone else play?

Yeah, it was good. I had quite a bit of fun playing it, but man it had some pretty big annoyances. First off the main characters name, not sure why but that really, really bothered me. I mean Fayt, come on.
Also I was kind of disappointed that they set up this whole universe in the story, only for you to spend your whole 30-60hours on 3 planets two of which are right at medieval and enlightenment period technology (perfect for an RPG). You spend at least 60% of the game on one of them.
Also I'm not a huge fan of action RPG systems, but this one is one of the more enjoyable I've played. Certainly worth playing, though the beginning is kind of slow. But does have a nice story behind it, and the invention system was interesting, though kind of gimmicky.

Yeah, I played it, but can't stand it. IMHO, the voice-acting is really bad.

I don't like the characters either, they are nothing like Star Ocean 2's characters.

yeah, compared to SO: 2, I don't think its a very good game.

I kinda hated it >___>

Yes, especially on that part where the characters actually die if they ran out of MP.Reaalllyyy anoyying. Because of it i got stuck on one part of the game.

But though i managed to end the game over and over again. But i would really like it if the planets were more colorful and took place somewhere not too...futuristic.

I've played all three of the SO games. Personally, I liked them all. But SO2 > SO1&3... as least imho.

LO..Ummm..It was a pretty good game, of course with all the little annoyances. I have to agree with Lantis though and say that while I liked all the SO games SO2 was by far the best one of the bunch.

It's the first SO game I've played. Ever.
My favorite character is Cliff because he just always has a hunch for everything and when he usually does he is always wrong. I also enjoy fighting with him because he can take out foes very quickly.
I must be the only one who never got KO'ed from MP loss. I guess that's why I never looked at that particular feature of the game as annoying. Although, it sure doesn't make much sense.

I like the battle system overall just as much as I did SO2's, though, and I think Fayt was a better main character than Claude was.

... And, let's face it, Facts, while it still isn't that great, the voice-acting in SO3 was waaaay better than SO2's. Let's not forget the shrillness of Rena's voice every time she opens her mouth, Noel's sounding like a gay theatre director, ... or Opera's screams. Back me up, Lantis.

The voice acting in 3 is better but I still prefer the voice acting in 2 because it was only in battle and so funny.
I still quote SO2, like if I do something cool in Halo I say,"That was around... 50 points" or "You saved me" "The enemy!" and "Behind me?"

I just wish SO2 had Trophies like in 3 or even a seperate save file for voices so I don't have to keep old saves I won't go back to.

Well, here's your backup...

Yeah, it was pretty bad. The worse being Opera screaming in pain when you run from battle... Also, WTF is Claude talking about? 50 points? 50 poitns to what? Does he secretly keep some kind of document where he tallies up how he thinks he does in battle?

Oh, and to get a little off topic... SK, seeing as you never answer your freaking phone I'm letting you know that Kajak will be chillin with us this weekend. And... bring all the tocs you want as well.
