Has anyone here heard of Fighter Maker? It goes with the relative theme of RPG Maker and I was wondering what people think about it.

I've never played Fighter Maker. (I've never even seen a copy before.) It looks pretty cool, and is made by the same people that made RPG Maker.

I don't know, I'm not that in to fighting games.

The game takes an extremely long time to design fighter and moves but you can create a completely original fighter.

I have Fighter Maker 1 and it's really difficult. The learning curve is really, really steep.

Never have been able to make 1 fighter.

I'm not into fighters. I've never been any good at them.

Believe it or not, there used to be a Fighter Maker Pavilion. But Fighter Maker was a huge flop, and so was the site.

I owned Fighter Maker 2. It is indeed incredibly difficult and does take a long time to make a fighter in it. Anybody who asks for a motion editor in RPG Maker hasn't used Fighter Maker before.

I still have Fighter Maker 2 but it will be a while until I get back into it. I never got to try Fighter Maker 1. It seems to me that like RPGM2, you need to be passionate about it and willing to learn it and put in the time to use it. I like all 3 of the RPGMs much better.

I hated Fighter Maker. It was a major pain in the ass to do anything. Even if you half ass it and use a premade fighting style it takes up 15 blocks. I never played FM2, but I sure hope it is much better.

I wouldn't include it simply because this is the RPG Maker Magazine. And fighter's are a completely diffrent genre.

And while Enterbrain developed it, I would sooner see it at a Mugen website or something geared towards fighting games.

The Pavilion supports Fighter Maker and Pengel.

ZOMG, we've GOT to be just like the Pav!!!

*pleads Ix for Fighter Maker content*

¬¬

Anyway, I think the Mag is geared more towards the RPG side than the Maker side... Simply because though they are both "makers" we are the Role Playing Game comunity... of which makes games of that genre. Or we could start supporting it and become "Maker Magazing" and not catagorize by genre, or "RPG/Fighter Maker Magaine", or maybe even "Enterbrain Magazine".

The latter being my personal opinion... but as I see it, there won't be any re-naming any time so (at all), and I doubt we will be supporting Fighter Maker.

But, I will say that if someone did, in fact make a game with it and wanted to post it here, there would be little qualm.

Fighter Maker is on PS1, Fighter Maker 2 on PS2. And if I remember right, Fighter Maker 2 is backwards-compatable with Fighter Maker 1 fighters, though with a few glitches.

BTW, beyond the "Maker" aspects of the games, the Fighter Makers aren't really that great as fighters. Just 1- or 2-player fighting against a single opponent. No story mode or time trial or anything like that. Least not as far as I remember.

Those two fighter makers really shouldn't of been made. They are lacking everything that makes a fighting game a actual fighting game or a fighter.

The only reason the pavilion supports Fighter Maker 1 and 2, in addition to Magic Pengel is because the Fighter Maker Dojo (Kire's first site) had some cool creations that I didnt want to be lost forever when the site eventually dropped offline. I figured while I was at it, I'd put support up for Fighter Maker 2 and Magic Pengel, just in case anyone ever wanted to share anything made with those.

of course, there has never been any submissions for those titles since they were added to the pavilion, except the one I personally asked Fushigi Renamon for. none of the FM1 files has more than 10 downloads either.

There's not much of a demand for it. If the mag added it, it'd likely end up just as dead as it is over at the pavilion.

and yeah, just like Draygone said, you can't make fighting games with the Fighter Maker titles. just individual fighters. although you can have a LOT of fun doing it and make some really cool/entertaining characters.
