I'm sure everyone here has a few. Those games that your incredibly hardcore about. But no-one else seems to really know about. Or worse, they go, Ya...that game was kinda lame.

Here's a place to show of those rare gems. I personally love finding little known games that are incredible. So hook me up with a list of your favorite unknown titles and let the gem search begin.

I'll start it off with a personal favorite of mine. Vanguard Bandits, released in America by Working Design in April of 2000, is a mech strategy game. It offers 3 distinct storyline paths, several characters, and a sh*t load of humor. The battle system is quite fun, with your characters pilots mecks called ATACs. It involves quite a bit of strategy as the game puts you into several unfair positions. It also offers a very cute "talk mode" in which you can level up your relationships with other characters, and also just get to here them say some funny stuff. There are also a few scenes in the storyline where characters battle it out in the battle mode and these few occasions look incredibly kool. (usually in a fight when you attack you execute one move and then your turn is over. In these scene the characters fight for quite a long time and you get to see very interesting combinations of skills.) With a nice battle system, a humerous cast, and quite a bit of replayability I believe this game is a proverbial diamond in the rough. A true rare treasure for gamers.

Share time. :)

Der Langrisser...

If you have never played it, you are missing out. It's a RPG that's built like FF Tactics but is for SNES.

Oh, and the text is arguabley just as funny, if not more, than Zero Wing.

I have to admit though the battle system is incredibly cool. And the text is so much worse then Zero Wing lol.

I don't know how known this game is, but absolutely LOVED Mendel Palace for the SNES

It's kind of wacky/silly, but very adictive.
It's an adventure/puzzle game made by Hudson Soft, if I remember correctly.
You have to go to eight different doll houses and beat the dolls living there. Each house has a specific doll/enemy and has 10 rooms. The floor is divided by tiles, and the only thing you can do is walk ans sitch the tiles. If you switch a tile where a doll is at, you push it back. You have to push it against a wall to destroy it. If they touch you, you lose a life.
Now, there's the common doll than doesn't do anythin but walk around (at later levels, they split when you push them) but ther are others like a Dancer, who simply spins around, bouncing against the walls, the Mimic, who does everything you do (she can even push other copicats against the wall) the swimmers, who swims from corner to corner, pushing the back tile with it's legs.
Then there's Sumo, who pushes a whole file of tiles with a stomp when you push them, a kid who draws on tiles (if it finishes a drawing, you can't push that tile. He can even draw ghost that comes to life)
There's also one that starts jumping when you try to push him. and another who instead of walking hops around.

And I was 2 coop. I think I got a bit carried away. Did I said that I absolutely LOVED this game? Because I absolutely LOVE it.

Yes, yes Kajak... you referred me to Der Langrisser... but I didn't know if everyone else knew.

But here's one. Dragon View. Another SNES RPG. It was the first RPG to have a world map in 3D. Granted, the graphics were slightly worse than the 3D graphics for Starfox for SNES, but hey... it was a step in the right direction.

The battle system was interesting. It was rather Double Dragons-esque in the sense of you walking around and striking your enemies. So yeah, active time battles. Fun.

Anyway, I think it was a good game for it's time.

My brother got Mystical Ninja (N64) used at a Blockbuster very cheap (like 8 bucks) Those are the best eight bucks he has ever spent.

The top 2 most underrated video games I have ever played:

1. Skies of Arcadia- this is one of the most wonderful RPG's I have ever played. Great storyline, tons of customobility, great battle system. Play it, now.

2. Beyond Good & Evil- Totally underrated, this game blew me away. kick-ass main character, unique gameplay, captivating storyline. If you don't own this game, I can't be your friend anymore.

Legend of Mana wasn't little known... Atleast not as far I know.

In fact, I own 2 copies of the game.

I agree... I thought Legend of Mana was pretty well known.

Now, one that was close to it that wasn't, however, is Soul Blazer. Great game.

And on the note, lets add Illusion of Gaia and ActRaiser to this list.
