Duh! I've played mostly every Sims game. One of my all time favorites.

Sounds interesting. Isn't it kind of a game where you play as god?

Oh no!

Please tell me that the Mag isn't Sim oriented!

If you need to play games that simulate every day life, then that is what you need to get.... a life.

Now before I get flamed, let me say I was just kidding. To each their own. I just don't find them fun. I mean, there's no ending... no goal. You always do repititous things. This includes petty things like watching your bladder level so you don't piss on yourself... That's not much of a good time to me. I'd much rather be headshooting noobs on an Unreal Tournament server.

But yeah, you guys have fun with that.

It's a niche thing Lantis. Hell, I love Harvest Moon. It's a lot of tasks, and I love it for some reason.

I feel that harvest moon has more of a point than Sims. In sims... you just live. You eat, you work, you come home, and it's pretty much the same every single day... of which only lasts about 15 minutes.

You may have a house fire or something out of the ordinary, but nothing really ever happens... ever.

I'd really like to point out that you think having sex in a video game is actually credited for something... :lol

Can't you think of anything a little more productive than that? I mean, seriously... explain why ^ makes the sims worth my time.

Sure thing "pal".

Ok here we go.

*sits down*

The reason the Sims is so cluckin addictive is becuase of a few things:

-You move this big pointer to make your Sim do anything you want.

-Playing the free play mode in the game can be more addicting becuase its great to see our Sim achive a large amount of wealth from a job he goes to everyday and getting to see how better you can build your Sim's house without using those in game cheat codes.

-Oh. And i guess humans like to play god which makes it more addicting.

*Ta-Da*. And there you go.

So you are telling me you get a power trip from making ppl piss themselves...

You need to play Devil May Cry.

And I really don't think I care about how well my house looked compared to others... in fact, that seems like more effort with less reward then, well, anything.

What's that? All three DMC games for $30?

Hmmm, Slaying demons? Or make sure my bladder level is low while mantaining house chores....

^ i'd give up on the chance to risk my life and kill things if it meant i wouldn't be p*ssing myself all the time. and the house would be clean.

*shrug*

the sims aren't something i ever got into. but i probably would, if given half a chance.

Although Sims 2 is kind of slow on my laptop (only computer I own), I enjoy it. I go on sims streaks, its not something I can play weeks on end.

.... Well, Lantis asked me to back him up here since he seems to be the only one so far on the anti-Sims side, and I am afraid I'll have to do just that.

Slaying demons with all sorts of neat sword and gun tricks in a far more highly graphical environment with pretty cool music in the BG (describing Devil May Cry) beats a game like The Sims any day. ... I mean, I look at Sims in respect to video games as being analogous to what reality shows are to TV.

(Do you really have pretend sex with other characters when you play this game, Kratos? Wow. I can't believe the creators would go into *that* much detail when trying to make The Sims so realistic ....)

Yup. Devil may cry can beat the Sims. But to me the Sims is a little more addictive. Also comparing 2 diffrent games in 2 diffrent genres doesn't seem right. The Sims is very popular due to the addictive gameplay and the expansion packs that follow. Devil May Cry is popular becuase of its combat, gothic atmosphere and the fact that i still couldn't beat that stupid boss in DMC 3 special edition from mission 19(sorry don't remember the mission number) Its great to post your opinion for your feelings with the Sims. But remember not everyone will be addicted to the game. You can't expect everyone that plays a game where you control a person's every move to come back for more right? Maybe its becuase the Sims game doesn't meet your standards of demon slyaing or those crazy monkeys in Monkey Ball. Those games were great. The Sims at heart is a love it or hate it game. Others may look at other gamers and ask themselves why someone would get enjoyment out of a game like the Sims. But maybe its just the presentation of the game. Or the goal to see how better we can do with our Sim. Oh well. But hey Sims 2 was greeeeeeat.
