I liked it. But the final boss was pretty pitiful. Although it got a laugh out of me when I was a kid.

Super Mario World
Super Mario 64 (the N64 version)
Super Mario RPG
Paper Mario 2

And this isn't a Mario game, but Yoshi's Island also rocked.

Super Mario 3 is by far the best.

Super Mario Sunshine looked like a good game but I just couldn't really get into it for some reason (maybe Princess Preach's cries for help were just really getting on my nerves, and I feared having to listen to them constantly for the rest of the game), so I stopped fairly early on.

Mario Paint, Mario is Missing, and the very first Super Mario Bros. ever on the NES were definitely the three worst.

I disagree... I think Mario Paint is one of my best gems on my SNES even when compared to FF 2, FF3, Secret of Mana, and Illusion of Gaia.

Mario 64. Nuff said

Although they are spin-offs, I really enjoy Mario Tennis (only the N64 one) and all of the Mario Parties.

I've heard that the second Mario Party is the best. I've only played 3, 4, and 5. But I got rid of them and it's been a while, so I can't say for sure which one was my fave. I know I liked various aspects of 4 over 5. I think I liked 5's capsule usage.
