Dark cloud 1 was not too hard for me. I thought that was a very good game. I did not like the 2nd one enough to play it through.

I would have to say Zelda 2 was one of the hardest games. Burger time and a whole bunch of late 80s early 90s games that I can't think of right now.

Theres a difference between not playing the game because its too hard to play. Not playing the game because it sucks. And then you have both. So most games kinda borderline both. Not too many that I loved playing and it was hard to play.

Final Fantasy XII.

Although it's not the hardest. I don't know what I'd consider the hardest. Offhand, I can't think of any game that I shunned because I kept losing. Well, maybe TMNT on the NES, but I only had that game because it came with Zelda II on eBay and I was getting rid of it anyway.

I'll agree with Duelpro on Devil May Cry 3... Only if he is refering to the Dante Must Die mode.

The final fight was over half an hour of litteral none stop action. If you messed up once durring that time, it was all over. In fact, at one point Vergil hits his DT mode and actually starts to regain life back. You have to keep a CONSTANT flow of hangun bullets just to keep his life where it is... this is all while trying not to die, which isn't easy BTW.

Final Fantasy 1 is another one. I mean, yikes. It's still the hardest Final Fantasy of them all. The final dungeon is longer than any other installment, if I'm not mistaken. But I remember the boss going down fairly quickly... not to say he was easy. No sir. He could take you out just as quick, if not quicker then you could take him out.

Now, I don't agree with the Megaman titles. Those weren't hard. Megaman and Bass was hard. The final bosses were all fought in a row... and the first of those fights with King was suicide enough.

Burnout was a pretty freaking hard game to... I'm not much for racing, but this was actually a pretty awesome game. I still haven't completed it 100% I'm at 98% with only two races to go. But the next to last one is KILLING me. You race in a rediculously fast car that if you take a turn wrong, you crash and burn. What's better is that all the other racers are in the same car. I dare not even think of what the final race is like.

Meh, that's all the ones I can think of right now...

Yup. Ghosts and Goblins (or was it called Ghouls and Ghosts? Well, either way, ww're talking about the same thing) was definitely the worst game ever in terms of difficulty. Naked knights just don't stand a chance in this side-scroller.

A good runner-up would be Legend of Legaia on the PS1, though.

I was never able to beat the Dark Genie in Dark Cloud.

If you ask me, he was about 18 times harder than any boss or dungeon in the game. (Besides the Ice Queen which was also very hard to kill.)

^ You have to kill the side people first before killing the Genie.

Ninja Gaiden. Never played it that much but it was really hard what little I played of it.

PsiOps. Stopped playing it because I just could not get any further.

Mega Man 4, mainly for the end boss, couldn't figure out how to hit him.

Gran Tourismo 3, because real racing is really hard to do. Having to worry about all that real physics and such not in acrade style games.

Rampart (Genesis to be specific), never was able to beat the last mission of that game.

Warcraft 3, the AI just rushed and raped you everytime.

RPG Maker 2, takes forever to get anywhere in this game :).

Oh and Lantis if you're having trouble with getting 100% in Burnout 1 wait till 3. 40 hours on that game and still missing two things so I'm at 99%. Not really because it's all that hard though (though when you race indy cars on the longest track in the game, it's hard to crash like 4 times or less in 6 minutes constantly going 250MPH on tracks made for about half that speed), just because getting the two I'm missing is all up to luck really. Have to knock two cars into the back of tractor trailors during a race, and have to knock two into a tram, which is only on two tracks, and only comes maybe once a lap (sometimes).

Burnout: Takedown is the one I'm talking about. I can't remember which one that is numerically.

I think Final Fantasy XII is pretty hard. The new battle system makes linking very common.

Yep that is 3. I wouldn't worry about ever getting 100% on that one unless you're very lucky. As for the last races they do get pretty hard, considering the game has the most insane catch up logic ever. I swear you can have a perfect race and most of the competetion will be like 2 seconds behind you the whole time.

I found FF1 to be fairly easy, but that's just me.

DMC3 was hard in general (has weak thumbs).

Ninja Gaiden's only hard if you don't take in enough time to play.
After the first two levels, you'll feel right at home.

Hardest game I've ever played?

Counter-Strike. :p

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne was indeed a pain. Good RPG however. I fought the optional boss at the end. That fight just about drove me nuts.
