Bought the game a few days ago.

I'm not sure if I like the battle style of the game. It takes alot to get use to. Needing to follow your blue line of attack in order to kill something. And its kinda hard to tell whos going to make the hit first. If your right ontop of who your tring to kill, it seems very auto.

I just got done killing a crazy tommato guy. :P

I like it, it gets pretty fun when you actually get the story going.

I kinda liked it. It's something diffrent. (from the other FF at least)
I'm very early in the game too. I basically just hunted the tomato monster too, and got lost wandering in town (map is a bit confusing to me, but I'm getting used to it)

No kidding.. The map is a real pain. Also that chess board item setup thing seems kinda hard to understand too. I'm kinda use to the one from FFX.

I like the 3d. However too much 3d makes it hard to see whats around you.

You mean the liscense(sp?) board? I can't compare it with FFX since sadly I haven't played it yet (but finished FFX2... go figure)

Anyway, I have the guide for the game with the artbook. I'm trying not to use the guide (why did I bought it then? Oh right! The artbook) but I took a look at the liscense section, so everything is a bit clearer for me in that area. I think it's nice since you can have any character take any role you want. (Tired of the typical pretty princess spellcaster? Make her the tank/weapon master then!)

Yeah, was thinking about the "hint" book. Thought it would be more fun to use that when I'm ready to burn the game with hatred. :D

The twists in FFX are gonna have so very little impact on you.

Never ever buy guides, its a waste of time and thats what Gamefaqs is for. I might get this depending how much I want something for winter.

What if the guide has extra stuff in it? Sounds like a pretty cool guide if that's the case. Not like I'd use the guide to find out what to do, anyway.

Yeah, But sometimes having the guide makes it too easy. The only bad thing about not getting the guide is that. They might sell out of guides. So if you wait too long then you wont have one, even if you needed one.

I think that buying the strategy guide is worth it only at the point where you are about to snap the game in half. If you have it, there's too much of a chance at ruining a perfectly good game before it's even played!

I know. :\ I basically know the story of FFX because my brother played it.
The guide itself doesn't have special art, but I also got the special edition, which included the artbook. (The reason I got it)

I haven't used the walktriough section of the guide, since I want to play the game myself. And following a guide step by step is just, not my style (not anymore)

Now, I can understand your animosity towards them with the sh*t they've put out lately, but I think you should really give FFXII a rental--I just seems like they actually TRIED this time. :p

i used to love every single thing square put out.

ever since the addition of Enix on to the company, their games have blown more ass than Enix's old arcade games. I am waiting for the company to die so I can piss on its corpse and laugh at it for being so completely retarded as to even think SPEAKING to enix was a good idea.

and I watched my roommate play the game for a few hours.
all I can say is that they did try.

too hard.

I just spent 11 of the last 24 hours playing it. Yes it's awesome.
(And how can you have fun with a game if you're not the one playing it?)

Also, the bonus disk was worth the extra $10 it took to buy the Collector's Edition. The "History of Final Fantasy" video was surprisingly decent.

I always enjoyed going through with a guide after I'd beat it the first time around.
It didn't give me a feel of missing out on some experience, it completed the experience.
