I wouldn't say it was dissappointing. Quite the reverse.

It is very fun and addicting. You can decorate your room, set up a shop, ect.

It is a fast pace MMORPG in a sense. I would highly recommend checking it out. I am already level 26 beast hunter in the game.

I finally got PSU
I'm still a lowly level 5 chubby female human. (She is a remake of a favorite PSO character of mine. I'll p robably make a male beast for online play too.

I know I'm bumping AND double posting (gasps)
but I was wondering if there are some new (or old) PSU players around. The chubby female human is already a mighty chubby level 62 fighgunner.

I came thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to buying it back in december, but decided not to cause I don't have access to broadband internet. I played PSO for the gamecube for a while offline and got to 62 with a human ranger. I was pretty satisfied with it, and I'm a big Phantasy Star fan, so I'll probly buy it if I ever get broadband.

So I am really into this game right now. Anyone still on from the mag? The servers are still thriving on 360. Two are always well populated and I am just starting the online portion of the game. I also have the DLC for it if that matters.

I played Blue Burst PC-side and had a circle of friends, and then moved on to PSU. I couldn't get into it- I didn't feel any class felt like a HUnewearl to me, and I made a Wartecher. It sucked for me.

I even tried to get back into it again last January. I bought the expansion, and tried again, but nodda.

Now I'm on World of Warcraft and having a blast.

Though, one of said PSO/PSU friends had offered to pay my account, but I doubt I'd have time for it with WoW, driving, and summer classes. Plus, the woman is on WoW.

I think for PSU to be fun, you just need a solid group of friends to play with, and a great deal of patience. I think having to level job classes killed it for me- it's what made me hate FFXI after all.

Totally agree that PSO/Blue Burst is superior on most accounts, but with all the servers down PSU looks good enough for me. I'm assuming you were on the PC/PS2 servers.
