Guess what: if you bought Need for Speed: Carbon today, you already have premium content waiting for you on Xbox Live Marketplace! Not only is there day one content available, but it's still on the disc waiting to be unlocked. But that's not all. You want to own all of this wonderful content that's already sitting on the very game disc you purchased? It's going to cost you an additional $50 in microtransactions. That's right, fifty ****ing dollars to UNLOCK game data.

Heres a list of the parts and items you can 'download' on Marketplace:

The Collectors Edition Upgrade - 800 Points
Performance Drivetrain Bundle - 400 Points
Performance Engine Boost Bundle - 400 Points
Performance Handling Bundle - 400 Points
Ultimate Performance Bundle - 800 Points
Muscle Car Autosculpt Body Kit - 300 Points
Autosculpt Tuner Body Kit - 300 Points
Autosculpt Exotic Body Kit - 300 Points
1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 - 80 Points
2004 Lamborghini Murcielago - 80 Points
2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 - 80 Points

If you even THINK of buying this sh*t, I will b*tch slap you.

I'm thinking about buying the ps2 version, but I never buy any racing special content.

Yeah EAs a bunch of money grubbing (shut your mouth). Way to take microtransactions and already give them a bad name. Still not as bad as GT:HD will be (where they give you the engine and you buy all the content in the game), but it's getting there. I really don't see how they can sleep at night still charging full price for the game. It would be different to have different 'levels' of a game so that you can determine how much of the game you need. This is what microtransactions should be going toward. Being able to play part of a game for part of the price. Not still paying $60 for stuff you could have gotten last generation for $50, and then having to pay extra to make it even close to the same amount of content.

But EA's always been glitz over gameplay and content for the most part (and definitely lately. Actually it was funny when I was applying to be an intern at EA a year or two ago, and I realized I own maybe 2 EA games in my whole 150+ game collection (Burnout, and C&C [which was westwood before they got bought out by EA]).

Meh, I've only been interested in the Hot Persuit games, anyway.
