I won't buy it, since my brother did. I haven't been able to play it yet, but Konquest seems a lot more interesting that Deception's (and a whole lot shorter)

Just want you to know that Mr. Boon has no plans to stop the series at all.

If you have Deception, you can unlock an interview with producer Ed Boon who says that he is planning on making several more MK titles. Armageddon is just the last MK for this generation console.

You're right I found this out recently. But the zombie liu kang is just right for this game.

I missed that completely when I rented the game.

You can unlock him late in the konquest mode.

He was a pretty good character too. Alot better than in the past MKs anyway.

This version seems like it'll be a real blast to play, but I caught an interview of the creators by G4 somewhere on the net, where Boon was describing the possible fatalities you can perform on your opponent, and ... (*cringe*) tearing out an opponent's *brain* just seems so wrong! It almost makes Scorpion's and Sub-Zero's fatality moves from Deception seems like child's play.

I caved in and bought the game. Its a must buy.

I think it's awesome they have a cheaper version that doesn't have the extra "Kontent".

I played the hell out of Deception, so all the bonus features kind of died off after too long. But $10 for extra content doesn't seem too bad.

And I will, also, be getting this game. It'll just be a while since I have to buy a new car now.

Yeah, the create a fighter is pretty impressive.
You can also make a decent Goku/Ryu/Ken/anyone who use a Gi or whoever it's called.
The bad thing is that you can only have one character per profile. The good is that you can have 8-10 profiles in a memory card

That's a pretty gay limitation... it should have been like Soul Calabur 3.

(*just now noticing*) ... Aah! And you are able to dopplegang Lara Croft from Tomb Raider in this game, too?! ... Is this customary fighter system thing in Armageddon going to be such a hot idea, after all? (*shudder*)

Actually, the above statements were just a way to show my disgust for certain video game characters of the past whom unfortunately became digital idols among my generation more or less for a time. From the screenshots, it seems that Armageddon will definitely one of the more ingenuitive warrior-customizing to date. Only downside is, when you've got an added feature to a game that opens up so many countless doors like that, these kinds of things tend to suck out one's soul, as how many online RPG's have proven to do.

I can see that... seeing that MKA is an MMOfighter.

But they really need to tweak the online play since Deception. If anyone played it online, they would know how broken the game was. The lag in the moves over the net made combos hard to do. And you could hit eachother at the same time, which would normally be impossible outside of projectile attacks.

But if they do fix all online problems, and this custom fighter is indeed as great as we think... I'd dare to say some people will be quiting jobs to play this all day long...

Okay, I may be double posting, but it's informative:


I've had Armageddon for a while now. And while the game is wonderful, and well worth it... there are some things I'd like to point out to good 'ol Ed Boon.


First off. The Krypt sucked. Bad. There were over 600 things to unlock in the Krypt in Deception and took a long time to do. In Armageddon there was not even half of that. Like 282 if I'm not mistaken. And what's worse? You could unlock it ALL without paying a dime. You could put in codes to unlock the "Kontent". Why would you do that? And then, if you didn't do that you could unlock it by picking up 60 items in the Konquest mode.

Also, ALL but 4 of the characters were already unlocked. Where's the fun in that. Deception had SEVERAL fewer characters than Armageddon and you had to unlock them.

Oh, and while the Kreate-a-fatality is new and inventive... it gets dull. Eveyone does the same thing (which can vary a bit, but generally...). Scorpion doesn't use his spear, Sub-Zero doesn't use his freezing powers... which make the fatalities lose alot of their intrest.

The Motor Kombat... just sucks. I played each track once and that was it. You don't even have a competition to race. Just a single track at a time. BORING!!!

Here's another problem... it's not a big one seeing as there are so many characters. But in past intallments, each character had two martial arts and one melee weapon... not this time. Only one martial arts and one weapon. Which kind of sucks. What makes up for it, is the air combos... for which I give kudos.

Oh, and the Konquest mode was good. But I didn't like how it was all "one way". If you played the Konquest mode in Deception... it was a big world. You had to go specific places and talk to specific people. In Armageddon, you only have one way to go. Which, again, is boring.

Also, there are only gold koins (no jade, onyx, sapphire,ect.). Which makes even buying things more boring (if you even buy them at all seeing you can unlock them another way... how stupid). The only thing you have to buy is the Kreate-a-character things. Which is a wonderful addition. I've enjoyed it alot.

But even though there are a plethora of problems... I still really like the game. I intend on spending alot of time on it as well. But I just wanted to get this off my chest.
