So I'm playing Lufia 2 the other day and I get to floor 94 of the AC (Ancient Cave for those people who don't play Lufia.) (I'm also playing this on original cratridge not ROM.)

So I'm on floor 94 when I see the stairs, but near the stairs is a Gold Dragon (If you have done the AC before you how rigged they are.) I make a run for the stairs, and get into a battle with the dragon...

So long story short, I got to floor 94 of the 100 floor dungeon and died... I was so mad! :shakefist

Anyone else play Lufia and have any AC stories? (I believe all the Lufia games have an AC.)

Oh man, that sucks. The furthest I ever got down was about 60-ish. I haven't played Lufia 2 since I was 14 (I'm 21 now).

yeah, it sucked. Gold Dragons are the hardest enemies in the AC. (you can only fight them in the AC.) And they have a one shot kill attack that hits your whole party.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm even more mad now...

I got to floor 86 and I just had a power surge... :shakefist :shakefist I'm about to throw my SNES out the window!

I'm starting to think that the game doesn't want me to finish the AC.

I hadn't realized that the Ancient Cave was actually that complex, with so many levels and those infamous one-shot-attack monsters with a bazillion HP each that all RPG's with optional dungeons possess. Wish I could help you with your problem, Facts, but I never could get any farther than level 30-something, and that was way back when I, like Ixzion, was only about fourteen or fifteen (eight years ago). Like anyone else who's ever been through college, I just wouldn't have the time to get back to old Super NES RPG's like Lufia. Don't give up, though; just imagine the personal triumph you will feel upon finally beating the entire Cave, knowing that, despite your frustration in having repeatedly gotten so far in and losing, you never threw in the towel?

I will never give up!

I just want to get to the Master Jelly so I can see if I'm good enough to kill him in 3 turns. (If you don't kill him in 3 turns, you lose the battle and have to start back on floor 1.)

Well, in case i've forgot. Can you see it and does it moves around?Or is it just a random battle and you'll have to encounter it?

Oh, all battles in Lufia 2 have a dungeon sprite that you can see. The only random battles are on the world map.

Each monster also has a movement pattern because they only move when you move. And I think Gold Dragons move toward your character

Lesse...This is just probably a suggestion why not run away from the battle when encountering it.Well, if you're lucky or maybe you can't escape from the battle. Then that's another problemo...

Location: Out there. In that place. You know, with the "thing"
In most optional dungeons (at least that I've seen) the "run away like a screaming little wuss" option is turned "off" The idea of beating one of those is to show how manly your nerd nads are, so running would kind of defeat the purpose.

Yeah, avoidance is a comical notion with things like that.
You either see one and rejoice (for the sake of your nads) or prepare for alot of ensuing redundance.
