Recently nerds have been grouping together on message boards all over the internet, each one flaming the other and talking trash about the other groups. Their beliefs? What Final Fantasy game is the best FF?

So far the biggest two contenders are Final Fantasy IV (FFII on Super Famicon), and Final Fantasy VII.

Just wanted to know what your vote was. Me?
... ... I think I'm a fan of both equally... maybe in the favor of FF7.

FF IX
FF IV (or II *shrug*)

Beyond that my favorites vary. It rocks back and forth between X, VIII, and VI

It's a tie between FF4 and 6 for me. 4 because it was my first (or maybe second) Final Fantasy and I get all nostalgic about it, plus it was the first RPG I played with such an awesome story (probably the second or third RPG I played, after Mario RPG). 6 because of it's awesome story and music, and the best ending to a video game I have ever seen.

Third place is easily Final Fantasy 9. Partially because of its tribute to older Final Fantasy games, and paritally because it doesn't restrict itself to a human-dominant world (and Zidane has a tails; I like tails).

Location: Out there. In that place. You know, with the "thing"
FF1 b*tch. That was my first RPG and I think it is still the best. (FF that is. Earthbound takes the cake for best RPG EV-AR in my book)

They're all good (I still think 7's the best, 4 coming in second place).
Currently the nerds on my college campus are staging a protest to final fantasy going 3D (those who like FF4 and hate FF7).
Currently they have no popularity.

I'm going to go with Final Fantasy VI. I loved it, it was my first Final Fantasy... and the storyline and extras were fun. Plus it had Relm(although she was pretty useless), as a Pictomancer. Which I find to be an extremely cool job class that needs to be revisited in the Final Fantasy series.:(

Only if it's done in the same style as before. The Advent Children versions lack the charm that the PS1 characters had. And I can safely say that without having seen AC.

Red XIII just wouldn't look as funny adjusting to being human in SOLDIER if it were realistic 3D.

I liked ff7 because it was my first ff rpg. I didn't choose the game because of the popularity, I actually chose it because it was on sale. So It took me a couple of months to beat it due to my psone breaking down and I got lost. I really did play ff7 everyday for a couple of months slowly though. After those years I went to play ff9, I loved the story but I never got a chance to beat it. So I basically just rent the game, played it for a long time and took it back. I will say that ff10 caught my eye when the ps2 first came out. I just love the scenery and the scenes. It was the like a movie that you could play :p. I can't wait for Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of Cerebus and Final Fantasy 12. I loved the new battle system for 12 but I haven't played a demo of Dirge of Cerebus. Its not really and rpg though but the name has final fantasy :p

VI and VIII are the best IMO.

I'd have to say 7.... but my personal favorite was Tactics. Those stratagy RPG's get me every time. And so far, not a single one tops FFT.

But FFT wasn't turned based like the rest of them so it gets nulled. I tell you what though... FFX-2 had one of the BEST battle systems ever. Mixed FFT's job class system with active time battle system... Pure Genius!!!

Either way, my votes for FF VII...
