I got bored and hazardously combined that with a rare occurence of thought patterns crossing my mind. The result is not half as hazardous as per the usual: just this thread.

So, its simple. You tell us what you are playing, why, and how you rate it (if you can or choose to). And when you play a new game: the cycle continues. I suppose it provides enlightenment for posterity, or ways for us to find new-good games. (that is a motive for me)

So (apart from RM3) I am currently playing a mix between Vanguard Bandits, Lunar 2, and Centurion for RM3 (the game I'm supposed to be reviewing).

Vanguard Bandits is awesome-its an RPG for the PS1 that I'm not sure when it was released but the graphics are beyond most games of that era.

It is a 'mech' game with a battle system that plays out like FF-tactics, only it doesn't take 3 hrs. and is alarmingly enthralling. The actual game is in a a 16-bitish type thing but the attacks are in 3d models. You level up with experience and everything....get new moves...the norm.

The story is good-even if there is a lack of scenary-and (most amazing of all) the WRITING is good. Thats a rare find...anyway its not a gundam game and you play Bastion who is trying to halt the wars of the ravaged continent of Eptnia.

Lunar 2 is just an awesome RPG that I play from time to time....rocks.

I need to get back on xenogears. I am at the very end now, but haven't played in about two months. It is ridiculous, I just bring myself to get back to it. The game is great, I highly recomend it. It is for PS1 and I rank it close to FFVII.

At the moment, nothing. Actually it's been maybe a week since I last tried playing something. Which worries me. The last game I played though was Rolller Coaster Tycoon 3. As usual, I did more wasting time on it than I did trying to make progress. You know, building roller coasters that are meant to crash or last forever or have killer Gs, setting animals loose, placing hunter animals in the same cage as prey animals (those zebras didn't stand a chance), and of course drowning people. Which you can't seem to do in this game. I've had it for maybe three months, and I've only finished one scenario. Tried starting the second, but I was not pleased with my results. Building tunnels really ruins the landscape when you make a mistake. That and I realized I needed to add scenery, and I didn't feel like doing that at the time.

More often than not, though, I've been playing FF4 Advance. I'm liking it so far. The music sounds better and worse at the same time. Higher quality music, but staticy no matter how you listen to it. Still, FF4 is my half-favorite FF game, so I'm not complaining too much. I just wish they changed it back to delivering a Package at the start of the game. Bomb Ring is so dang obvious. I mean, if I were a sympathetic Dark Knight who was just demoted from captain of an airship platoon because I questioned the King of our last killing spree, I'd think twice before delivering something as suspicious as a "Bomb Ring" to a village that I know nothing about.

At least they kept "Spoony Bard".

Yeah, I'm thinking we need to start a "Guilty Pleasures" topic, with stuff like throwing the rabbit in Mario 64 into the water. I bet there would be a lot of Sims stuff.

What I'm playing:
Mario and Luigi:Partners in Time
We Love Katamari
Animal Crossing: Wild World
FFIX(occasionally)
LoD(occasionally)

What I'd rate them.
DS-Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time: I most definately recommend this came to anyone. Something that saddens me is that you can only play as the brothers(bring back playable Bowser and Peach at least!). Other than that, it includes a multitude of not too hard of puzzles involving using characters individually, in pairs, and ultimately the whole group to complete a task(ex. a 4-man switch). The game also takes some strategy in battle, or you'll perish quickly. Knowing when to attack with a weapon or use the jump attack, for example. I even died against the first boss a couple times from not being careful and underestimating the game. I like the game a lot, and the 1337 5p34k1ng hammer bros was a nice bonus so far. 4/5

PS2-We Love Katamari: I'll just say this- more of the same. And I do love Katamari. Now there's co-op and you can roll up more cousins of the prince to play as, which is always nice. More accessories, more areas, but still a budget title. A damn good budget title. My main qualm is the camera, but meh.4/5

DS-Animal Crossing: Wild World: An honestly addicting game for myself. Collecting furniture and paying off my debt is fun, and I enjoy games with digital fishing in them as well. Trying to get the gold rod is going to be rough, since I've played almost everyday since I bought it and still have not caught one tuna or pop-eyed goldfish. Characters are highly customizable in this rendition, yay online play although I didn't hit it up yet.5/5

PS-FFIX: Most people have already played this. I just like how the battle system flows and the great storyline perks in this game. I just really enjoyed this FF.5/5

PS-Legend of Dragoon: Set to be FFVII's rival, believe it or not. Actually, both translations were pretty bad mainly to the typical FFVII fanboy's dismay. I loved both. But I've played FFVII into the ground. So I've been playing LoD again. I love the transformation aspect in battle. Also, the storyline is pretty good when you manage to finally sift through and tie it all together. Plus, the battle system is still very unique, I think. It actually requires coordination skill to attack to the fullest.4/5

And that's what I'm playing. A little bit of each along with Runescape and PSO. That with college work makes my traditional gaming time a little low.:X

I'm playing Dragon Quest 8 to see the supposedly wedding and a new dungeon. So far I've found out a twist in the whole story.

I've actually been playing FFIX and LoD to. FFIX has been close enought to my favorite for a long time...the story was great, I mean people say FFVIII had a great love story, but 9 had a much better one in my oppinion. I love how you gained abilities, simple and it encourages you to get all the items. The sphere grid in X was a shock after that...

LoD has the best battle system of a Square game...or at least it did until Star Ocean III-Till The End Of Time came out. But LoD's is still more challenging...like fay said coordination required, and it made battles...(dare I say it?)...fun.
The story in LoD was great, and for a dragon freak like me there isn't anything better then having wings...(ok, maybe Pamela Anderson, but I'll stick to games)

Yeah, I thought that was stupid too-I'm not even really positive why they did that...I mean it didn't make alot of sense, and it makes it more cliche...but I agree That FFIV was probably one of my favs as well. VI was good though...see I can never decide...*pops in IV and relishes in nostalgia*

Thats cool. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But I canot find a better way to top FFVII's materia system. I mean... WOW *tears of joy*

Hmmmmm....I think your talking about an ability/spell system...I'm talking about actual combat. FFVVII was just another RPG in terms of combat, but LoD had special qualities. Materia was awesome, simple yet had intricate possibilities.

It's my third favorite. It could triple-tie with my two other favorites if it weren't for that battle system. It's slow. I liked it better when the ATB guages filled up at a speedy pace in the other FF games (FF7 was probabably speediest). Plus, you often don't get to take full advantage of your Trances, either because you had to waste it using an item, or you would up gaining the Trance at or near the end of the battle.

currently i'm playing:
RPG Maker 2
Resident Evil 4(PS2)
Capcom Fighting Evolution
Capcom VS SNK 2

my rpgm 2 game is a constant work in progress. i'm still ironing everything out. my cbs is going to take some time to get right.

RE4 is just plain fun. i have the GC version and i played through that one a few times & did everything there is to do. the PS2 version is graphically inferior(albeit very well done in its own right), but there's more to do and that's all the reason i need to play it over again. the mercenaries game is really fun(although sometimes frustrating).

CFE is just a great 2D fighting game. 'nough said. Kenji is a bad-ass ninja character who needs his own game. My favorite character will always be Ryu though.

CvsSNK2 is another great 2D fighting game. fighting games break up the slow creation process of rpgm 2. sometimes, you just gotta have something a little different with a little more action..
