The Mag's race of Punky Skunk and Dray's defense of his enjoying it despite being a bad game got me thinking that all of us have titles that everyone else dislikes but we love and vice-versa.

I won't ask anyone to post both sides, but go ahead and briefly explain why you love/hate each pick.

Games I love that everyone else seems to hate:
  • E.T. (Atari 2600) - By far not the worst game ever made. It's playable, it's beatable and really isn't that bad.
  • Deadly Towers (NES) - One of the first games I ever beat before my brothers did. They gave up on it. I didn't.
  • Super Pitfall (NES) - It's hard. It has permanently missable objectives. The music gets very repetitive. But it's still fun, has great exploration and feels very satisfying to clear even after numerous attempts through trial and error. Only ever used the Continue code and never a guide to beat it the first time.
  • Time and Eternity (PS3) - Really the worst thing about this game is the English voice acting. It has gorgeous visuals, a great soundtrack, a customizable battle system, and great character development while not taking itself too seriously.

Games I hate that everyone else seems to love:
  • Pokemon - Can thank the English dub of the anime for leaving a VERY bad first impression, but all of the games look like the same thing over and over again (a common complaint about the Zelda series, actually).

I have a distinct feeling I'm one of the few at this site who considers BioShock Infinite the best in the series. You can also chalk me up as one of the pukes who thinks BioShock 2 is comparable to 1. I also played the hell out of its multiplayer.

I don't care for any Sims game. SimCity included. Hate is a strong word to use though.

Oh yeah, I really don't like Batman Arkham Asylum. That's a pretty popular game. And I wound up getting it because it's popular. But just because a game's popular doesn't mean it's a game I'd like. I should've remembered that from Star Wars Rogue Squadron II.

Felt the same about Arkham Asylum. I don't hate it and recognize it as a good game, but it just didn't fit with personal tastes.

Felt the same about the Uncharted series too but I'm hoping to break out of the same for Monster Hunter by getting MH4U on N3DS as the only one played previously was the PSP port of 2 and it wasn't the best port.

Most of my Review-ography at GameFAQs is stuff that I like that is either vastly overlooked or disliked. The Sega Game Gear itself is much overlooked and probably even disliked, never mind all the great games I've played on it.

Stand-outs include:
Crazy Chicken: Atlantis Quest (DS)
The Bee Game (DS)
Gauntlet Dark Legacy (GBA) - Excellent example, lots of dislike for it, but I liked it.
Pretty much anything Game Gear
Pryzm: The Dark Unicorn (PS2) - Another great example, very much disliked, but one of my PS2 faves.

I usually don't trash-review games that I disliked but are well liked across the board. No point in getting under peoples' skin.

I'm pretty much the only person I know that played and enjoyed Quest 64.

It wasn't the worst thing ever. It did have a good soundtrack.

I sorta like it. It lacks ambition, but it has a lot of charm and polish.

I'm gonna leave this opinion of mine here.

Fable 3 > Fable 2 > Fable 1

Yeah, I said it.

Well, they all sucked, so it doesn't really matter which sucks worse than the others.

I'll gladly dignify that with a response:

You're so very right. Those games were all hype and no substance.

Never got to play any of 'em, but did have a friend who enjoyed them when they first came out.
