Yes! They some early streamers were at it since around midnight, i think. One of them Gema_Yue, I think, played/streamed non stop until she got the All characters cleared message.
Part of me was hoping for a secret surprise.

The Mii Fighters are absent from that image. I was under the impression they would be present in both versions, not just the WiiU version.

They're in the 3DS version.

So I guess the questions is, why aren't they in the "full roster" picture?

They won't appear until you set an actual Mii. The icon appears between Sonic and Random icon.

Also, on the aesthetic side of things, It bothers me to no end that Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Lucina aren't with their respective franchises.

Yeah, it seems they're in the clones section.I guess Falcon and Ganondorf are different enough to be with their respective groups.

Well, Ganondorf doesn't share C. Falcon's Final Smash for once. And Falcon.. I don't know, I rarely used any space animal, but don't some of the moves work differently than Fox?

Lucina's only difference from Marth is the lack of a sweet spot on her sword. From what I've heard of Dark Pit, he's just slower but stronger.
Dr. Mario is actually a bit different from Mario since he has the Tornado spin as his down B attack instead of the Fludd.

But this is just me trying to rationalize their placement. Maybe they're just not in a clone section, but in a NEW clone section. Then again, Doc is a new old clone...
I mean, if it's THAt important, Dr. Mario could have traded places with Mr. G&W and...you know what? I'm don't even know why I'm doing this. Their placement really doesn't bother me. XD

ANYWAY:
There is some talk about this guy who has a reliable source that told him that there will be more characters available when you link both your 3DS and Wii U version of SSB4.
I don't necessarily believe this, but I can almost see it happening. I think it's more of a plan to make Mewtwo and Ridley fans another glimmer of hope for a while more. *shrugs*

Ridley has already been confirmed as an assist trophy. He will not be playable.

I do have to say that Smash is an awesome series but so much of the enjoyment of awaiting the release can be hampered big time by the unpleasable fans who never stop complaining about who did or didn't make it in. The positives of just having the game and such a diverse roster already outweigh the losses.

I will be disappointed if Duck Hunt dog is not available in Smash Wii U without linking. But not so disappointed that I'd be willing to get Smash 3DS. Because I wouldn't.

IIRC the roster is the same in both versions. The primary differences between the two will be stages and items.

Yeah, they will be the same. What some people thought is that Nintendo might have pulled a Pokemon by having some characters initially playable on a version, to be unlocked by linking the other.
Or maybe that Wii U will reveal more characters, and they would be accesible/downloadable to 3DS as soon as Wii U version was launched.

Probably not happening tho.

I can't believe Duck Hunt is a character.

One day... Geno will be a character. I just got to hold on to the faith. Just got to keep telling myself it'll happen. It's okay. Just a few more iterations. Maybe after Kerfuffle. Super Smash Bros - Fisticuffs. I'm trusting you, Nintendo.

Gotta talk to square about that one.

But Geno is TOO BIG!

Square needs to pull out the buttplug and make it happen!

I would also like to see the final boss from the first Mario and Luigi game be a playable character.
