Hey guys, the Steam Summer Sale is upon us:



June 19-30, 2014

There's a lot of us here, so what we need to do is combine our money and such so that we know to get 4-packs of various games.

The strategy:

Post games that you are interested in buying in this thread. This will give other people the chance to chime in. If there is a limited sale, please give as much time as you can before making a purchase so that other people have time to see the thread.

I will update the second post with things people want to buy as fast as I can.

By the way, a good idea I've heard is to buy things on Steam as gifts so you can trade them for something else if you don't want them.

I'd love to get in some GM Murder. So if Garry's Mod has a four pack sale, I'll hit that up.

I second Garry's Mod, for murder, as well as dozens of other custom multiplayer games people have made with it. (Prop Hunt, is the funniest shiz I've ever seen).

I'm also going to suggest Space Engineers. It's in alpha right now on Steam, so I don't know whether it will go on sale, but it's a sort of minecraft, or terraria like game that takes place in space. You can build ships, build mining stations on asteroids, ect, and it just got a multiplayer patch. Check it out if you are interested.

Also, I just bought Monaco's 4-pack because it was 90% off and it was gonna end in 6.5 hours but I'll be at work then.

FYI, Garry's Mod is 50% off currently. Ends on June 30. Might become a flash or daily, though.

Potentially interested in Gary's Mod. I'm trying to keep an eye on things as well.

Forced is a pretty fun little multiplayer game. 4 pack is currently 15.29. If you look at it and feel Diablo or something like that keep in mind it's way way more puzzle oriented than anything else. It also ends in like... 3 and a half hours... Stupid sleep making the Summer sale more difficult to manage...

Orion: Dino Horde has a 4 pack for 4.49 for the next 7 hours. Game was crap when it first came out, but after all the patching and fixing they've done it's alright. Just good multiplayer Dino killing (or playing as a dino if you want).

Just an option. 4.50 isn't bad for a few hours of laughing and cussing about Dinosaurs.

I'm totally down with that. We should grab two more people interested and shoot the sh*t out of some dinosaurs.

I'd be down for some Gary's Mod. But I don't think there's a four-pack anywhere...

Also, pro tip.
Browse the entire store (takes ages...) and build your wishlist of all the items you plan to or would like to buy during the sale. Now, wait until they are on Flash Sale for even more savings. Then buy during the Flash Sale.

At the end of the summer sale (6.30.14) if there are games you still want but didn't do so during a flash sale, now's the time to buy.

Finally, if you don't game on PC, Amazon is staying competitive in pricing with its own sales. However, Amazon's pricing extends to consoles as well. Not too shabby.

By the 30th, I'm picking up a copy regardless. Just sayin'

Actually, I went ahead and bit to see how complicated it would be to get things set up. Problem is, all the games that I was thinking would be good for us to play DO require Counter Strike: Source. But... on the Garry's Mod page, they do offer a bundle for both Counter Strike: Source and Garry's Mod.

So I've already popped for the two individually. The pack is 24 dollars and not on sale. But individually they are 5 and 10. So that would be the way to go. I've installed a few games of the games we'd play. It was very straight forward and simple. The mods you don't even really install. Though I don't know how easy or difficult it is to connect privately since no one else has it yet. Worst case, we'd have to use Hamachi, but we've done that before in the past with fairly consistent and headache-free success.

I'll totally play some dinos if gifted dinos. If not, I can try and wait til it's back on the front page.:O
