New Zelda? Holy crap. Mario Maker- oh it's real- and it can switch between classic Mario and NSMB style. AND the interface is much like Mario Paint, even borrowing the swat the fly minigame to an extent and certain parts of the UI and the font for the title.

amiibo. I like them a lot! These figures will get to interact with a ton of games, and remind me of the days long past when Nintendo Power would occasionally send out Nintendo swag catalogs. I want to collect a TON of these. The figures also are very detailed themselves, and are very much display-worthy on their own.

I am actually looking forward to them Livestreaming the finals of the Smash tournament. For those thinking the netplay will not cut it, this will more than likely be the chance to see it as I imagine those who come out on top at the various Best Buys will have at least a few people competing on the stream with those at the Nokia Theatre playing it at Nintendo's actual event in person.

The stream starts back again at 2:35 PM EST. At least 4 completely unannounced titles. I AM HYPE.

Splatoon looks super fun. I can see the Mag playing this together!

The font reminds me of Loadout. It is a 3rd person ink turf shooter. You also can kill opponents with ink. It just looks like so much fun!

I was telling my brother that I would hate Nintendo if they added the figurines (amiibo) because I would buy them without a second thought. I am glad that they don't seem mandatory to enjoy the games, but I WILL BUY THEM ALL ANYWAY.

Mii Fighters and Palutena for Smash. That was awesome. I like how Miis can actually fight and not just do random Street Pass things or Wii Sports related stuff

Mario Maker had me "meh" until they showed it's not limited to 8 bit graphs :O

Zelda, Zelda, Zelda! I loved the open world image they showed, and I'm excited about both Midna and Zelda being playabale characters in Hyrule Warriors.

I want to know more about Xenoblade Chronicles X

Hell, I even liked Splatoon, and I hate shooters. I can see myself taking advantage of my bad aim to just mark my team's territory.

Damn you Nintendo, you are going to ruin me!

Miyamoto has confirmed a new Star Fox will come to Wii U and will be completed next year.

The new Xenoblade Chronicles is looking great. I need to play and finish the first game. I own it, but it got in the backlog. This new Xenoblade game really reminds me of my time with the PSO2 beta. The aethetics and gameplay. This is definitely a good thing for me! You are also playing as your own custom guy or gal in this installation.

I could've sworn I made a post asking why the E3 conference wasn't linked in this topic.

Actually, was there even a conference? All I saw was an E3 version of Nintendo direct. But it was a good one. So much stuff announced, and I liked how they apparently got Robot Chicken animations.



As for specific thoughts, off the top of my head...

* Kirby Canvas Curse 2 will be an easy buy.
* Yoshi's Epic Yarn is definately not Kirby's Epic Yawn. (I saw a health meter.)
* Open-World Zelda looks interesting, but I really wonder how well it'll be handled. I envision an Elder's Scroll type of Zelda game with that environment, but being Zelda, the objectives and game flow will probably be similar to old games, leaving the open world feeling rather empty with nothing to do.
* Those statue things look interesting, but I'm more interested in how they'll be implemented in Mario Kart 8 than in Smash Bros. Would be an interesting way to breath life back into the game, months after we've already gotten bored of it.
* Glad that Mario Maker allows for some elaborate level designs. Even more glad that they have a next-gen mode. Nintendo has a real shot at going against the Mario World romhack community.
* It's worth noting that half the games from the Direct were slated for 2015. Dang.

I haven't bothered watching the Microsoft or Sony conferences, so I say this with complete uneducated bias: Nintendo wins E3 this year.

There was no Nintendo conference, just the Nintendo Digital Event and the Treehouse.
