I know the general consensus around here is that you should never buy a console at launch. But I figured we should still at least have a thread to discuss the launch.

Some interesting things happening:

Reports from reviewers and others that got the console early that the console has been malfunctioning and/or bricking.

Sony is teaming up with Spike TV for a livestreaming event tonight starting at 11 PM ET/8 PM PT

To go along with the Spike TV event, Hideo Kojima said today on twitter that "There'll be a shocking PS4 related announcement that will blow your mind."

Share thoughts? I know most of us declared before that we'll be getting the PS4 over the Xbox One. If that's the case, when does everyone plan to pick one up?

Man... and I was looking forward to it.

However, I'm not terribly worried. A: Warranty, B: My launch PS2 lasted for a long, long time. I am sad there's nothing like Evergrace for it to launch with though! It was not the best game, but dat OST and I liked it a lot.

This is second time I'll be getting a Sony console at launch, but it'll definitely be better than not being able to TRANSFER MY STUFF TO MY NEW WII U.

And midnight. Tonight probably. Gamestop is having a midnight release.

My luck says it'll probably brick.

I also avoided buying a 360 until they changed chipsets with the whole RROD thing. So I love how Xbone fanboys are already like LOL WE WIN after pretty much half or more of the people I know have had RROD years after launch with non-launch consoles even.

One thing that's been brought up, is that the consoles only bricked because the users decided to unplug the console during some sort of software installation, while there was a big "DO NOT POWER OFF OR UNPLUG THE CONSOLE" on screen.

So, basically, don't unplug he console when it tells you not to, and it hopefully won't brick.

User error strikes again! This SAME problem was at the Wii U launch. People can be SO STUPID. They mean it! I mean if your power goes out that's one thing, but impatient people slay me.

And Sony has reported a .04% failure rate. Which is pretty low for new anythings.

I'm not too excited about the PS4 anymore, primarily because I'm already in the process of getting a PC built, which will most likely be more expensive than a PS4. And besides, I've learned NOT to buy a console at launch.

With that said, I do plan on getting a PS4 either this year or next year.

DUEL IS COOL NOW. FEH.

I know I said the console has NO GAEMS etc etc, but I'm very much exaggerating, especially for a launch.

Assassin's Creed IV looks great(although current gen too), and I got Contrast for free by having PS+. Other than that, Sound Shapes is free for anyone I believe(really fun), and I also got DC Universe Online to fool around with.

I think the game that is honestly the best to get from the PSN right now is Super Motherload. It's an indie title... basically you mine minerals and upgrade little drill machines. It supports up to 4 players, and has a pretty nice soundtrack.

Personally, I'm just excited for the Twitch.tv streaming as well. I mean... no more needing to buy a capture device for me really. Just hit the share button and go.

Launch, etc etc but I'm actually more excited now than when I actually picked up the thing.
