That's actually freaking awesome. The Best Buy near me is going to have the kiosks! Even more awesome that my location is seemingly one of FIVE cities/areas in all of Texas.

It's at least a four hour round-trip to the nearest one for me... so I'm going to have to pass. =/

But someone should go and report back. Slap a GoPro around your neck or something.

We're thinking of going to the Lexington Best Buy from 1-5 on Saturday. If I go, I might take a few cell phone pictures.

I am thinking this would be an EXCELLENT way to finally get some people for Street Pass. The last time I was in Lexington for a doc's appointment this week- I got one from randomly shopping in a few stores.

We woke up a bit late, so we got to the event around 2 or so. There was a small line in the back of the store at the Wii U display/kiosk. You got in line, and got to pick a game to play with your name. There were four games- Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, DKC: TF, and the new Mario Land game. I chose Mario Kart 8 first of course, and got to race a random dude pretty quickly. We were both kinda surprised I think, because uh… they just had gyro controls. SO HARD. I played as Bowser and was all over the road. Anyways, the game is very similar to Mario Kart Wii with the addition of coins and the new anti-gravity wheels. I bet it plays stellar with regular game controls! Graphics are gorgeous, and bikes are back. I am very happy, and hope Rosalina is a playable character. I also think there is a new Luigi’s Mansion course based on Dark Moon!

PG played 3D Land Wii U with our friend. It looks really fun! The cat powerup is very amusing, and I watched someone else play this crazy stage where the 4 characters just ride on a huge dinosaur surfing in water. It was cool.

After that, we went to chill like we do with our 3DSs nearby. A really nice lady with two kids approached us, and gave us a card for a Lexington Streetpass club. Too cool! We never streetpass people down here obviously, but that’s just awesome. We’re planning on going to one of their events.

… And then I decided I REALLY WANNA TRY ZELDA FOR SOME REASON. Wind Waker HD. So I got back in line for a long while. And just kind of occasionally chatted with people. I finally got to Zelda, and was like “CRAP I FORGET WIND WAKER I HAVE NOT PLAYED SINCE HIGH SCHOOL REALLY” so I chose the boss battle, rolled up the tower at the bird… and uh, I fell off and had to re-climb the whole tower with the grappling hook. I did a stupid. It was all good though, I at least got through the first phase after messing up. It is VERY pretty, and I will more than likely get it.

Early people there got these foam-ish Luigi hats, but we ended up getting there later and got Mario Kart 8 mini-flags. They are very adorable, and have Mario and Luigi on them.

There weren’t that many people there today(which was surprising to me since it’s Saturday)… like we saw maybe 30 people max? On Wednesday, apparently like 100 people showed up and they were slammed. They didn’t know what to do since Nintendo initially allotted 7 minutes per game per person, and they obviously cut it down to 2 minutes by Saturday.

And, we got a ton of Streetpasses! I think I got like 4 people’s model homes in New Leaf I need to check out. All in all- a very fun time! A very mini-con experience.

We didn't- mainly cause you'd have to get back in line. However, I saw someone else play it for their two minutes up close. What I saw was Diddy kicking butt. They were also stuck with waggle controls since the display just had WiiMotes and the Gamepad with no options to change it since they were demos. It looks really, really nice! Diddy was roaming around by himself as well, but that may just be a multiplayer thing. I haven't played enough of DKCR to know if he can do more by himself in single player. I hope so, cause if so Dixie can actually do things. Dixie wasn't in the demo level, Diddy was though. I hope that helps somewhat.:P

EDIT: ALSO. Apparently the Editor-in-Chief of Nintendo Force was at our event as well! Very awesome.:)

I got to go to one of these events! We went to Chicago to enjoy our little break and saw one by the pier. I didn't get to play anything (damn you children playing!) But I managed to take a few pics on a green tunnel prop they had. :D
