I never finished Wind Waker on the GameCube but now I'll get the opportunity to do so. In a beautiful way. Aside from the sailing WW was an incredible game. Hell, the GC version still looks good even today.

EDIT: This is just one of many new stuff revealed from Nintendo Direct. Great stuff!

They better fix Tingle.

And by "fix", I mean ensue that we'll never see his kin, again.

Yeah, this makes me wanna have a Wii U now. What also has me excited is Monolith's game "X". It looks like Xenoblade and Monster Hunter combined. I would say that's a solid "win" formula. :D

All the other HD remakes can go home now. That video!

And if I'm getting this correctly, this is kind of a side project too since they said the new Zelda will "take a long time" unless this was their focus. Either way, yeah buddy.

MEDLI IS ADORABLE.

According to all the sales, it's like the sixth one down. Under even Link's Crossbow Training.

Kooloo limpah!

So you're saying, by that logic, that Tales of the Abyss is one of the worst Tales games? It had horrible sales in the US on the PS2. I don't believe it ever eclipsed 100k units. It sold less than Legendia, which is widely called the one of the worst main Tales games ever made.

Wind Waker would be 4th on my list of best Zelda games.

Personally I'm surprised they would remake it. While the first half of the adventure is solid, it falls apart when it comes time to grind for map translations. I'd rather play "Link to the Past" than ever touch "Wind Waker" again, and if you know my opinion of LttP, you know that's saying something.

I really like Wind Waker. I do think Nintendo shouldn't have cut so many dungeons... cause fun fact, you know how Medli is related to a certain something? And the other temple is too? There were supposed to be as many dungeons as Ocarina of Time.

Even so, the game has a charm I cannot put into words really, and it took some risks as well as being a sound foundation block of when I was younger.

That being said, BRING ON THE MAJORA'S MASK RE-MAKE. I'm ready, I think. Maybe. I'm hearing 3DS for that one, and the OoT 3DS remake looks and plays amazing. That creepypasta got to me though.:(

Also, the more exciting part of this announcement is that other Zelda. I have a very, very good feeling they're going back to Twilight Princess style environments. It feels like it is going to be a much darker Zelda. I can't see them not harnessing the HD power finally for that. I think the WW remake will be the other side of the HD spectrum, with bursting colors from every environmental scene.

After playing Majora's Mask, I WANT a darker Zelda. I feel like it fits well with the series. As for Wind Waker, the overall design and visual style of the game is almost as good as Majora or possibly better. Dray, you said the game fell apart when the Triforce came along. Incidentally, that was when I stopped playing.

Not because the game was boring but because I just got distracted.

Regardless, two Zelda games, I am stoked.

I like darker games for some reason. I guess because it's not as common or normal, or it just has a certain vibe to it.
