A fan group has released a trailer for Resident Evil 1.5:



When I saw it, everything I remember about the Resident Evil series has flooded back into me. The series gameplay that I adore.

Btw, it could be a hoax. Either way, I still like the concept.

In case you guys didn't know, Resident Evil 1.5 has always "been a thing". When Resident Evil 2 was in production, the director decided to scrap all of the work done at one point, and completely rework it, basically all they changed was that they replaced Elza with Claire and improved the graphics. The story and such was still the same as it is in RE2.

There's demo footage of the original game out there, and this just looks to me like a montage of that footage.

Yeah, myoky's right on that. I always wondered if Capcom would dig through its "never made it to the market" archives one day later and give us an official release of 1.5, just for the heck of it. Elza seemed like an okay idea, anyway, in place of Claire. Without Claire, I guess we wouldn't have had the dramatic angle that ransacking the S.T.A.R.S office in RE2 had given us, though.

I wonder if there's a rom dump for that old Resident Evil version.
