Hold on there a minute... I'm interested in the anime. In fact, I'm the one who brought it up. So you really should be pointing fingers at me if anyone.

And while on the topic, Chrssy... have you any linkaged to subs?

They haven't made an official release date yet, but a few places still say forth quarter of this year... But I'm more inclined to think you are probably correct in saying sometime next year.

They have a new site up for DMC... feel free to check it out. Again, no release date to be found.

Also, there's been talk of a DMC movie to come out in the future. Any opinions on this? I'd say if it's Advent Children-esque, it may be worth while...

Bump.

Devil May Cry has an official demo out. PS3 and XBOX 360 owners should jump on their consoles and get online and download it.

I haven't had time to play it yet, but it's ready to go.

DMC3 had a more complex battle system that 1 and 2 combined... I hardly see the problem.

DMC3 was fine but DMC4 should be a step up from DMC3. Graphic-wise and gameplay wise. But it's still good though. I enjoyed it :)

Once you can play with dante... it SHOULD be stepped up a notch.

Remember in DMC3, how you could chose styles? Well, you could only change your style at the beginning of a level or at a statue. In 4, you can change it on the fly... making the number of things you can do in battle multiplied many times.

Definately a step up if you ask me.

Well, I played through the demo last night. I played the 10 minute mission and just laced into anything I could hit. My time ended up running out after I lowered the bridge...

And the second mission with the battle with a few Frosts (From DMC1) and Berial was actually a bit challenging. But it didn't take long to take him down.

Here's my take on it all. I think Duel, that you have a bit of a point in your original point. But that's only because it's the beginning of the game. Remember, to get the most out of battle you have to spend your hard earned Red Orbs for new moves and abilities that will further max out what you can do in battle.

All Nero had was Hightime, Helm Breaker, Stinger, Aerial Rave, and a standard 3 hit combo. Stinger was the only move in that list that isn't normally already availible in the past installments.

One thing, though, I'd like to point out is that the Devil Bringer (which is mapped to the circle button... that was the special button for job styles in DMC3), once you got use to it, added an extra demension to battle. You actually can string combos that you couldn't do in past DMC's. A good example would be that quite a few people would like to finish their combos with Stinger. Stinger will throw your enemies far away from you... that would usually end the combo. With the Devil Bringer, before they even hit the ground, you can grab them and bring them right back infront of you.

This also works for if you are in the air and an enemy is on the ground... and vise versa. It even works on the larger Frost enemies as well as being integrated into boss fights like Berial.

So while there's not too much you can play with on the demo... I'm pretty sure we don't have to worry about there not being an extremely fleshed out battle system that'll probably even trump DMC3 with relitive ease.

Oh, and on a side note. You know that 10 minute run mission? Well, I was able to beat Berial on it. After the docs, you will eventually come out on the snowy mountain that the second demo mission starts out on. And I was able get through that whole level and fight the Frosts and survive the fight with Berial within those ten minutes. Fun...

Also, if you haven't yet... try grabbing (not the R1 Cirlcle grab... just Circle) Berial when he slumps down and isn't engulfed in flame. You'll do something... niffty.

I haven't beaten Berial yet, I'm an offensive fighter so I like to rush in instead of evading. The Devil Bringer is pretty awesome and yeah I guess it does bring a new addition to your combos. But what I don't use the most is Nero's gun. It seems to be slower than Dante's for obvious reasons but I don't see much use for it besides keeping your combo up. I did achieve Atomic level in one of my combos, which I enjoyed a lot.

Also, Nero surprisingly reminds me of Dante. Not just the look but his attitude.

I was expecting his attitude to be more nicer and less-sarcastic. :gir2:

Actually, you can pretty much get in Berial's face and wail on him all you want. Just keep your feet on the ground. The second you see him about to swing this lava-soaked sword at you, either hold R1, Over on the analog stick, and X. It's his standard roll move. Even if it looks like you are going to get it, you won't as long as you are within the roll.

Same thing with jumping upm, strangely. Ever since DMC1 I noticed that you are virtually invinsible while you are jumping. Not the animation where you begin the jump... and after you are as high as you will get (not including wall jumps). Bit as you are traveling up... it seems you don't take any damage, reguardless the attack.

This works from 1 all the way up to 4... and is actually rather important to beating the Must Die modes. Hopefully Capcom won't thow in another broken move like Ice-age from DMC3.

So, yeah... rolling and jumping at the right time will allow you to stay right beside Berial almost the entire fight. The only time you can't really is when he punches the ground (it's pretty much the same move as Phantom's [the spider from DMC1] large pillars of lava/fire. All you really have to do is just run.) Oh, and those building... try to keep the fight away from those as much as possible. They have green orbs in them... so whenever you are low... just go jump ontop of one. When Berial smashes it, you'll be back up to almost full health (assuming you were able to keep him away from the houses).

I might buy this game later within the months or rent it from gamefly. I thought the demo was pretty good, gave me a new reason to play the game.

I also enjoyed the demo but now I am curious. If I go back and play the others, will I be too dissappointed with the gameplay? You know after having played this new and usually superior sequal.

I can see myself picking up DMC4 but not for at least a couple months. Other things to finish playing first
