Take care, Gold.

... Let us just say that
Ozzie is not MEANT to be defeated.

On the other hand, not bad beating Slash and Flea on your first attempt.

Okay, and now for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So during my second attempt at Ozzie, I realized that you don't actually target Ozzie himself, you target whatever those 4 things are around him (I didn't catch what they were). So after that it was finally time for the battle with Magus. Before the battle with Magus, I decided to switch Cosmo with Marle. And it was a good thing I did, because Marle can use some of her MP to heal other party members. Doing this'll probably save me the need to keep using Mid Tonics. So after defeating Magus, I somehow woke back up at Mystic Mountain. Then before venturing to Tyrano Dome, I had to switch out Frog for Ayla. After going through so many battles in Tyrano Dome, I started to get worried because I went through so many battles without a save point. But I was just lucky enough to have a chance to save before battling Nizbel II. Good thing too because I lost to Nizbel II on the first attempt.

That's all for now.

Wait... you are this far into the game and you just now realized that Marle can heal? Actually a lot of them can. Robo has cure beam, Frog has slurp, Ayla has kiss, and all of these have double techs like Chrono and Marley's aura whirl. I can't believe you've made it this far completely oblivious to healing spells. How does this even happen? Do you just never try new spells or techs?

Actually.... now I have to ask: Do you even know what a double tech is? because it is half of what makes the game awesome.

But no, seriously. Have you been using double tech? You should even have one or two triple techs by now too.

Just FYI, Chrono/Marle, Frog/Marle, Robo/Frog, and Ayla/Frog all have a double tech that heal all your allies at once. Marle/Robo have two. Crono/Marle/Robo will eventually learn a triple tech that gives everyone auto revival on death.

As for where you are now, using Marle might not be the best idea if you ever figure out Magus' attack pattern. You're going to want at least three of the four elements represented in your party. Chrono and Frog are required for the fight, and that gives you lightning and water techs. Marle is also water (or ice... same thing) which will make the fight much harder rather than having Robo (shadow) or Lucca (fire). Besides, Frog at this time should have his heal spells... which heals all party members as well as restores status effects. Which I explained in detail in the guide...

Okay, time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

After FIVE failed attempts, I finally beat Nizbel II. Though something tells me he may have more HP than what I read in the guide (the guide said he had 4200 HP). Anyway, then came the battle with Azala & Black Tyrano. When I noticed how much HP Black Tyrano had I was all "(sigh) Well, it looks like we'll be here for a while." But on the other hand, using some of the single and double techs actually helped me defeat Azala. After Azala & Black Tyrano were defeated, Tyrano Dome was eventually destroyed. In it's place was a cave that had another time portal inside that lead to 12,000 BC. And the last thing I did was battle a group of 6 Nu's.

That's all for now.

Okay, now for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So, I started by heading to Zeal Castle where at some point I battled Golem. But after getting bested by Golem, I got thrown out of 12,000 BC. But on the bright side, I found some kind of necklace that opens the locked door in the Keeper's Dome. So, I opened it and then I activated some kind of plane that can warp you to different places (kind of like those portals in End of Time). At some point I chose to enter the Apocolypse. That is where I met up with Lavos. At the experience level I'm currently at I knew Lavos was gonna be a LONG fight. And the battle somehow reminded me of the Miracle Matter battle in Kirby 64. It's nice they actually give you a break in between phases. A couple times I used the opportunity in-between phases to switch party members. For instance: I started with Crono, Marle, and Ayla. But when Lavos started copying Magus' attacks, I switched Ayla with Lucca. But two phases later I put Ayla back in the fight. I read in the guide that Lavos had 30,000 HP. But for some reason he obviously has more that. I didn't exactly beat Lavos yet, but I haven't lost to him yet either. Next time, I'm gonna hope to defeat Lavos. I've come too far to lose now. Though why do I have this hunch that maybe I chose to battle Lavos too soon?

That's all for now.

In response to your post...
You chose to battle Lavos too soon.

But when you beat the game, you'll have an option of restarting the game at the same level you were when you beat the game. Beating Lavos at the point you are now is how you get one of the secret endings. But for now, you have a lot more story to go through before you're supposed to beat Lavos.

Btw, that's not just some random necklace. That's Marle's pendant that she dropped at the beginning of the game that Crono's been holding on to this entire time.

Is that the same necklace that will open all those spooky-looking boxes that were sealed?

It is. You can tell because all the doors and chests that it can open have the mammon machine on them. The same device you used to power up the pendant.

Okay, well I may have lost to Lavos on my first attempt, but it'll be awhile before I try again. But for now...here's what happened:

I took the Epoch plane back to 12,000 BC. Then while going through a cave I found a Weapon & Armor shop (which makes me wonder if the guide can recommend a good weapon & armor for each ally to have at a certain point). Then before going up a snowy mountain summit, I fought Blue Beast, Red Beast, and Mud Imp. They didn't seem that tough at all (despite the fact, they recover HP a frequent amount of times). Then after going through the snowy mountain summit (that's what I call that area), I fought Giga Gaia. Despite Giga Gaia's hands re-spawning at certain points, I actually had no trouble with this fight. So, once Giga Gaia was defeated, the mountain erupted and then it was back to Zeal Palace. That is where I fought Dalton (and I don't mean the Dalton Academy Warblers from Glee). Dalton was very easy to beat. So, after Dalton was defeated, I found a save point which was pretty much where I ended.

That's all for now.

As a rule of thumb, any new shop you stumble across is more than likely going to have better gear than what you have. As goes for most RPGs... it should kind of go without saying, really.

I clearly remember Lantis and SK having a bit of trouble with that boss, and I expected you to be the same way. You must be getting the hang of this game.

I guess so, Dray. But I still got a LONG way to go before I finish the game.

And now for another progress report. Here's what happened:

After battling Dalton came some good chances to grind experience points. So, I took that advantage. Then came the three battles that took place on an elevator platform. Though after each elevator battle I was all "STILL haven't had enough?" Clearly, the answer was no. But then came the battle with the Golem Twins. It took me three attempts to defeat them. Problem was, as the battle was winding down, I was running out of Revivals, and once Crono and Ayla ran out of HP, Marle had to fend for herself. But luckily my supply of Ethers and Marle's Cure ability kept me alive. After they were defeated, then came the moment where Lavos defeated all party members with a one hit KO. After that point, Marle and Alya woke up in some cave near the Epoch plane. But when they woke up...they were robbed! But luckily I got back all of my money and Marle's equipment. Now I just need to find everyone else's stuff. But the big question is...WHATEVER HAPPENED TO CRONO?!" It's like he went (echoes) MISSING!

That's all for now.

The Golem Twin's gimmick is that they copy the elements you cast on them. A really easy way to cheese the fight is just use Ice 2 the whole time. Out of all the spells they can use, Ice is the weakest. And casting only ice spells on them forces them to use it. So I usually take Frog and Marle and spam their spells. Also, I mentioned this before, but Cure isn't your only option for healing. Not to mention reviving. Crono and Marle both have revive spells. Not to mention that with Marle and Crono, you have access to Aura Whirl which heals everyone. Items shouldn't be your limiting factor in battle.

Might want to start paying attention. Crono isn't missing, he and his body were completely destroyed by Lavos. Crono is dead. Lavos blasted him to dust with a giant beam of death.

Okay, time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So, I started with trying to get all of my stolen property back. After that, it was time to escape the Blackbird plane. But before I could do that, I had to battle Golem Boss and Dalton Plus. Both battles were actually easier than I expected and they both went faster than I thought they would. After that, I somehow met up with Magus again. I had the choice as to whether I wanted to fight him or not. I chose not to (I hope I made the right decision). Then Magus joined the party. Then it was off to Black Omen where I fought Mega Mutant and a few other enemies after that. After three failed attempts, I was all "Okay, screw that. I'll come back later if I have to." So instead, I went back to End of Time where I was given the Chrono Trigger.

That's all for now.

In response to the choice you made...
There is no right or wrong decision. Your choice here affects the ending of the game. Next time you play, try fighting Magus and see what happens. Oh, and by the way, since you're using the let's play that Lantis did as a sort of guide, don't watch the bonus videos. He shows the extra endings in those.
