To clarify, the point of the spoiler tags is to make sure you don't "spoil" someone's fun by telling them something they wanted to find out on their own. The possible date of a let's play is not a spoiler.

Hey, guys. Sorry it's been a long time since I've posted in this thread. But anyway, I'm finally back playing Chrono Trigger again. So, here's what happened:

After getting lost in the factory for a LONG time, I finally figured out how to get out. From there, I made it to a place called "End of Time". By that point, I had to choose which party member to leave behind. I wanted to choose Lucca, but ended up choosing Robo instead. So, then there was the choice of three time portals. I chose to go to 1000 AD. I hope I made the right choice. From there, one place I got into a lot of battles was Heckran Cave. After a few battles, I went back to End of Time so I could save.

That's all for now.

You know, you get lost an awful lot considering Lantis gave you a guide so you wouldn't get lost.

I am aware that Lantis gave me a walkthrough. Problem was I got stuck on a paragraph in that walkthrough for quite some time only to find out what I did wrong: I obviously went the wrong way (silly me). (Note to self: Remember to re-read the walkthrough to find out where to go after End of Time)

Okay, so more progress was made recently. Here's what happened:

While I actually was able to progress further, I battled the following bosses: Heckran, Zombor, and Masamune. From my experience in these battles it seemed as if these bosses were immune to physical attacks, but weak to magic attacks. So, after defeating Heckran, I learn something in the dialogue about an enemy named Magus. I have not seen Magus yet, but I probably will soon. I ended up going back to Guardia Castle to get some jerky so I can cross Zenan Bridge. I crossed it and then defeated Zombor. But beside from all the other mini-battles I went through in Tata and the Frog. I put some of the items I had to good use (especially the Mid-Tonics and Mid-Ethers). But I still have yet to beat Masamune.

That's all for now.

Masamune is definately a tough boss to beat. Which is probably why
he uses a different battle theme when Masa and Mune merge. It's sorta like how the weapon bosses in Mario RPG have their own battle theme.

Does Lantis's guide have boss strategies in it?

Of course it does!

Edit: Hold on just a second. How long as that text file been messed up? My walkthrough looks like complete trash!

You'll have to forgive my typing in that walkthrough. I have horrible grammar and spelling. Much more so even compared to now. And that's saying something.

Yeah. It's really funny. Both my copy here and the copy I uploaded to Gamewinners has completely different, but both very messed up formatting.

I never knew a basic text document was so hard to manage. You know, it being such a complex file format and all...

Okay, so here's what happened last night:

After losing to Mesamune so many times, I finally figured out a different strategy: Go back and stock up on Mid Tonics because I had a low supply. And I also figured out a strategy so I can still keep score with a calculator: Apparently, you can pause during battles which can be a big help (especially for later boss battles). So, after I beat Mesamune, I had a choice to make as to where I wanted to go. Since Mystic Mountain was one place I don't remember going, I chose to go there. But after reading the walkthrough, I can't help but thinking that maybe I forgot to do something...

You know, there's not a whole lot to figure out. I covered exactly how to handle the boss in the guide. I'm assuming you are trying to do this on your own before having to look at the guide, which I can respect. If not, well... I would be a bit confuzzled.

Using the Hero's Medal during the Masa & Mune doesn't work for several reasons: 1) Hero's Metal only ups the crit rate of the Masamune... which you don't have yet. 2) You can't even get the Hero's Medal till AFTER you beat Masa & Mune and return to Tata. 3) Only Frog can use those two items and he doesn't join your party for quite some time.

Just sayin'

Okay, I made a lot more progress last night. Here's what happened:

So after finding out I forget to get the Hero's Medal from Tata, I went to do that. Then I went back to Mystic Mountain to meet a new ally named Ayla. (too bad she only stayed in our party for a short time) I was sent to look for a Dreamstone. So, a few things to point out. There was this one hut I went into where you can trade certain items. After a while I was all "Okay, do you really NEED the stuff you get for trading?" But then I went on to the Reptite Lair to battle the next boss Nizbel. After that, it was time to see Frog again to power up the Masamune. Then after a long absence, Frog finally rejoined our party.

Okay, time once again for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So, the majority of this session took place in Magus's Lair. I ended up in a lot of battles including boss battles with Slash, Flea, and Ozzie. Although, I surprisingly got through Slash and Flea in one attempt. I have a hunch that I'll be needing more Mid Tonics before I try battling Ozzie again. (I quickly lost to him on the first attempt)

That's all for now.
