For anyone who can answer this question (I'm just not the kind the gamer who can keep up with news, anymore, so forgive me if this seems like a really stupid question), has Twilight Princess come out yet? And if it has, has it been played by anyone here and won their approval? I'm thinking about making it the very last game I bother to purchase for the Gamecube.

(I *do* wish to make it clear of course that the Gamecube turned out to not be so great in my opinion, so it's not like I have a big collection of games for it or anything - just Skies of Arcadia Legends and the remake of Resident Evil. Think of my wanting to buy Twilight Princess as my way of trying to make the best out of the foolish $140 I spent on the console. ... Speaking of the Gamecube, didn't anyone else who bought one think it had an awfully strange shape?)

No, Twighlight Princess isn't out yet. The Wii version will be available at launch, and the GameCube version I think comes out December 12.

I never really thought much about the GameCube's shape. I mean, it's called GameCube, so of course it'd look kinda cubish. Though now that I think of it, it is kinda odd how they put the hardware underneath the disk drive instead of off to the side like with every other console.

Only if you didn't play Link to the Past during the SNES era, it seems. Naturally, I didn't get interested in Zelda until Ocarina came out, and I had a blast, and it became my fave, even after having played LttP later on.

Dude, SK... you completely forgot about your Zelda Collection for Gamecube... and on the Zelda thread of all things.

OOT was awesome... as was Link to the Past. And Majora's Mask was teh r0xxOrz. Those would be my top three Zelda titles....

I wish I had kept my N64 copies of Ocarina and Majora. First off, they were gold copies. In Ocarina, they changed the music in the Fire Temple after the initial runs because the music sounded like Bhuddists chanting or something like that. The new song is horrible to the point that I refuse to play through again. And Ganondorf coughs snot instead of blood when you kill him, again, after the initial runs. And on the disk versions of both Ocarina and Majora, though the load time is short, it's just long enough to put the ending music way out of sync with the action.

I noticed the snot blowing as well and thought it was really gay. I mean, I felt the hurt when I see him cough up blood... now it looks like he hocks a loogie.

Oh and same thing goes when you kill him the second time. After you land the final blow? Yeah... all green.

But if I may step out of the topic for a slice of spam: OOT wasn't NEAR as bad about the remade port version as Megaman X3 was. OMG, they took every single song (of which were awesome) and remade them... every single song was worse than the original. Oh and get this: The boss intro's before each level on the original was awesome. Now the are choppy anime style shorts that could be worse. And the biggest problem of all. The credits... My favorite Megaman X song ever was the credits for X3.... And they took it out COMPLETELY! DAMN YOU, CAPCOM!

Which is why I never get rid of the original game anymore. I've been disappointed by ports and remakes too many times. N64 Zeldas, PS1 FF6, GBA FFI&II, GBA FF4, Mario 64 DS (okay, this one's sorta better, but it lacks the nostalgia of the original), and so on.

I got my Gamecube way late. I only had it for about 8 months now. I only got it so I can play all the Zelda games. I got the game pack with Zelda's 1,2 and 3 on it. Also I wanted to play the "4 sward" game. That was the only reason why I bought it. It was only a pluss that I found out that the new Zelda was coming out for it. :D

This topic being bumped comes at no surprise. Zelda is definately gonna be one of the first two games I'm gonna get for Wii. Now if only I can figure out what the second is gonna be!

The way I see it, Zelda is a gamer-institution, so it only suits that the thread remains one, eh.
Bumping it was a necessity.

I currently exist without any gaming systems, so I'm going to have to work out how to get ahold of FFXII and TP, and haven't played a video game that wasn't a mag review (till my RM2-3 became screwed) in almost a year.
Those will probably be the last two games I play.

"The latest and arguably greatest Zelda is one of the best reasons to have a Nintendo Wii"

More like "one of the only reasons". before you jump me. I said "ONE" there can be more than one. (not too many, mind you)

*waits for public flogging*

But yeah, every last video I've seen for TP leaves me with a need to change shirts, due to saliva saturation...

Even fishing...

That whole fishing thing looks like will hurt your wrist after awhile. Real fishing it takes hours between catches normaly so its not that bad. But in a game.. Every 2 min. you will be hurting your wrist tring to get that bummer of a fish.

Also I see Zelda is out for the wii.
But not for the game cube.
I wounder why? :/

Because the GameCube release comes later.

...And I find that a separate topic was made for it.
