Hung out with SK last night. And we have planned a quest for awesome. He's got the Megaman Collection for PS2 which consists of Megaman 1 all the way through 8.

Over the course of this weekend, we want to plow through all of them... and finish off with 9.

So, I got it today. Already made it to Wily's fortress. I'm stuck in the first stage. Can't figure out how to get past three of those lava pumps shooting horizontally in sequence.

Anyway, I can't say which themes are my favorite, but I can say which stages hurt the most. Plug Man's stage. All those disappearing platforms. And Tornado Man's stage. Windy platforms. Honestly, I've died from faulty jumps more than anything else. Though those robot masters come in a close second.

As far as the robot masters went, I did a lousy job figuring out their weaknesses. The only one I can say for certain I figured out the weakness of was Magma Man. He kicked my butt no matter what power I threw at him, until I gave up and went after Tornado Man first. Then I got my first 10-second win.

I've achieved several challenges so far. Aside from the easy ones that you get after blasting so many enemies and the 10-second win against Magma Man, I also got the one where you're supposed to keep moving around, and the one where you're supposed to beat a robot master with one health left (by accident, of course). And I'm sure one or two others, but I forget what they are.

I hate Mega Man 9. Not because it's challenging, but because it KILLED my Wii!
So after arguing against myself if I should download it Thursday Night or Friday morning, Thursday Night won. I played it. Died a lot of times. Still enjoyed. Beat Splash Woman and was proud of myself. Earned 2 challenge awards. (the easiest ones) Went to sleep.
Friday Morning, I took my Wii to the living room, so I could show Mega Man 9 to my brother. It didn't turn on. It still doesn't turn on.
Why Mega Man. Why?

IT WASN'T DR. LIGHT! IT WAS WILY!

Answer:
[spoiler]You absolutely HAVE to do this as soon as you enter the room. Use R. Coil and spring up and grab the center ladder. You might not think you can make it... but you can. In fact, it's the only way. And on the next screen, you have to jump over to the right most ladder to continue, the two other ladders lead to dead ends with energy tanks.[/spoiler]

@Nex: If your Wii isn't turning on, unplug it for 30 minutes and then plug it back in. It should work after that. Scared the hell out of me the first time, too.



Here's something that y'all don't know:

[spoiler]You can use Concrete Shot to freeze the lava in place.

However, what I do is jump up on the first pump that's on the left, activate Rush Jet and make him go up so I can GTFO.

I've tried Concrete Shot, but I die way too much because of the timing.[/spoiler]

Well, it's been a couple of days, and it still doesn't do anything. But I've been told of cases were a Wii doesn't turn on for a week and then works out just fine.

Have you had it unplugged, though?

Well, I left the other cord plugged. Wasn't sure if it mattered, but I unplugged it from everything a while ago.

I have beaten Mega Man 9!

It took me around 3 hours, plus around 1 hour to hoard a ton of screws for the shop to max out my stuff. And I needed it. Went into Wily's fortress with 9 lives and 9 energy canisters. By the time I beat Wily, I had several game overs and only 2 energy canisters left. The game was definately awesome, though. Frustrating as heck, especially those last two Wily stages, but I had a blast. Now, here's my accomplishments:
