It began dying at Sonic Heroes. With Sonic Heroes, I thought I was going to get a good game. It turned out to be alright, but could be much improved. Shadow the Hedgehog was a major flop. Sonic Riders wasn't very good. Sega's trying to gain money by pumping out more games, but it's not really helping anything if they're not making quality. Many Sonic fans aren't complaining enough, some not at all.

They just buy it because its a sonic game. Its just sad to see a good series gone to waste.

I honestly think the only way to revive it is to sell the rights to SquareEnix and let them revamp it. I haven't been dissapointed by them yet, and I have faith in them should that ever happen.

Yeah, but what would SquareEnix do with a non-RPG game series like Sonic?

... Besides, while I tend to agree with you, I can say that even Square has disappointed just a few times before; just look at Dragon Quest VIII.

And yes, the intro music to Sonic Heroes was indeed a causative agent of fatal bleeding in the ears.

DQ8 is one of the best rpg's out there. I was expecting it to be lesser than what it was but it has a rich story, lush environments and plenty of hours of to keep one busy. Till this date from a year ago I can replay this game with the same feeling I had the day I bought it.

Sorry, Hunter... I'll back SK on this.

The battle was half-ass done. I mean, it's RM1's battle in 3D... Big freaking whoop. Also, the story wasn't "lush" at all. It was repetitive tasks. Remember how you had to get your boat? OMG, I almost killed myself. Just when you think you are about to get the damn thing and finally continue the game... OH NOEZ, that harp guy broke a string on his harp! It's now our job to fix it... And after that, it's something else that's completely pointless. No story development for the LONGEST time. And that, my friend, is boring.

But anyway, back to Sonic. I really didn't think that the Sonic Adventure series (the few before Hero's) was that impressive either. I mean, I kind of enjoyed myself... but not like I did with the side scrollers. In fact... if it isn't a side scrolling Sonic title... then it's really not a good Sonic game.

Nothing after Sonic Adventure 2 is good. Nothing. Except for Sonic Rush. And that's just decent.

I've said it before, but I'm a very patient gamer. I have beaten Castlevania 1 without codes (as I do just about all games). But Sonic Heroes is ass. You die and it's not even your fault! And the stages are so long (10 minutes stages, what the hell?) that if you lose all your lives, you have to go back to the beginning.

Sonic Heroes is one of about 3 games to ever make me throw a controller in anger.

If anything, the music is acceptional... with reguards to the theme (Shut the hell up, Duel Pro. Not a peep from you!). >_______>

And I agree. You die over the STUPIDEST things. The boss battles were boring... unlike the feeling you get when you fight Dr. Eggman's giant robot at the end of Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

In fact, I vote S3&K the best Sonic title evar... care to quarrel?

i averaged... B...

>_>

Personally, i thought that it wasn't a particularly hard game up until the Canyon stages, with all that fricking rail grinding nonsense. Even then, it was completable. My personal most hated stages were the jungle ones.

.... while (with the exception of the jungle level where you basically never got a GOOD camera angle) sometimes you do get bad camera angles, very few of them were so bad as to get you irrationally slain, and even those few were easy to avoid after a couple of plays.

The boss battles were a tad formulaic. The problem i think with those was that... well.... the battles on the original side-scrollers were formulaic too, but the area to fight in was so much smaller, and your ability to dodge was dramatically decreased. I blame tedious boss battles on the 3rd dimension.

Music.... was ok... voices were NOT. GOD >_<

Some of it was fairly interesting, to be fair, and i actually quite enjoyed that little 3-3 battle minigame they added to it. *shrug* why don't you just shoot me in the name of freedom of speech?

^___^

Actually, the best song in Sonic Heros was on the 3 v 3 fight with Team Dark. "This Machine"

And I agree for the most part. Can you say you played the game with each team. I bet not... You know why? NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY THAT GAME MORE THAN ONCE. It's no diffrent with each team. It was Sega's despirate plea to get ppl to put more hours into the game.

I laugh at them...

i hope you were kidding Lantis when to told me to shut the hell up. :x

when sonic does his lame hover missle attack ball thing. thats when the camera screws up.

And the teams have no special quality.

the music is tolerable.

the story is so rushed at the beginning cutscene.
Also it shows that Amy really wants sonic. REALLY.

I think what is more disturbing about the game is that love story between Sonic and that human girl.....
