The ability to swap out party members any time you wanted is not something common in RPGs. You've been spoiled by Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger. =P

Okay, time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

This time I started by heading to Jidoor. But my only purpose for going there was to buy new equipment. So, after that it was time to head to Zozo. Two big tasks featured here was trying to reset a clock (which took me a while to figure out), and then climbing building to building until I reached a cutscene where Terra was found. Then it was time to head back to Jidoor. Oh, and I believe at this point, I am now 1/4 of the way through the game.

That's all for now.

Something I'd kinda like to find out is your opinion of what you just played. So far all you're saying is "I've done this and this", but we don't know your reaction to "this and this". For example, what did you think when
Terra went all glowy and flew off to Zozo?
Also, now that you've learned how to
equip Espers to learn new spells,
you'll have to tell us how you like that, since it's different from learning new spells in Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger. Hearing your thoughts about the game would make this topic a lot more interesting to read.

Noted. Well, I can say for the fact that I haven't equipped any Epsers yet, so as of right now I have no opinion. But when I do, I'll mention something about that.

Well, the holidays are over. So my quest through this game resumes. Here's what happened:

My primary focus this time was inside an opera house. But before then I learned about Setzer. He created an airship and plans to capture someone named Maria during an opera. So Celes planned to make herself a decoy in order to lead the entire party to the ship. But it seems a boss named Ultros was one step ahead of Setzer. So I had 5 minutes to find Ultros and then defeat him. When all was said and done, Celes tricked Setzer into helping her and the rest of the party.

That's all for now.

What did you think of the opera?

Seeing as the fact that I'm not really an opera fan. I currently have no opinion.

I'm not an opera fan at all, but I still gotta admire the effort they put into it. Scenes like that are not very common in video games, especially not back then.

Okay, well not much to explain here, but here's what happened:

So, basically this next progress report took me to three different towns: Maranda, Tzen, and Vector. But then comes the Magitek Factory. After going so long with forgetting to Save, I started to worry that I'd lose all my current progress in the factory, but halfway through I luckily dodged a bullet. Oh, I should also mention that there was this one cutscene in the factory featuring Kefka and one other person whose name was not mentioned that was drained of his powers and is now useless to Kefka.

That's all for now.

Don't worry about forgetting to save. It'll be hard to beat what one of my brother's friends did once: Forgot to save well-into a world changing event, died, and had to re-do all of it.

Hope you're enjoying the game!

.... I have this feeling I know exactly what stretch of game you are speaking of, Dyne, and I myself before discovering that you can save while on the overworld map made this same grave error (first-time player in RPG's at the time, really ^_^ ).

Good to see you're staying interested, Goldglee. Hope you only grow to like it more with the events to come.

I'll point it out after Gold clears it.

I actually did the same thing with my first RPG: FF2/4 and didn't even know about the save function at all. Went from the start of the game to my death at the hands of Milon's first form.

Okay, everyone. So, it's been a while since I posted here. But I'm back now. Here's what happened:

After drawing a blank as to where to go in the factory, I realized there's this one cutscene and boss battle that happens outside the save room. It featured Ifrin and Shiva. During this fight, I noticed that Edgar had some tools he could use in battle. I finally decide to put these to use. The two I end up using a lot are Chain Saw and BioBlaster. After the battle, Ifrin and Shiva became Magicites. Then comes a cutscene between Kefka and Cid. Apparently, during the cutscene is where Celes leaves our party (which is sad). I hope she'll come back later. Then came a series of battles on a minecart. After the minecart comes where I meet up with Setzer. Which leads to a battle on a ship featuring two cranes. After the battle, I noticed that the ship can be sort of used like the Epoch plane in Chrono Trigger. Now comes this cutscene where we see Terra again after so long. Which leads to something called "The Esper World". I really didn't get the whole point of the Esper World bit. But that's just me.

That's all for now.

Goldglee, the point was that
Terra is half-esper. Her mother wandered into the Esper world and fell in love with an Esper named Malduin, and then later the Empire came and ruined everything and that is how Terra and the espers fell under the Empire's control.

You're at the point where the entire world is now open to you and there are several great places to develop your magic.

Slight spoilers for where you're at:
You can also obtain a few extra pieces of Magicite and recruit a hidden party member at this point.

Alright, so previously I didn't get through much. But here's what recently happened:

It started on that ship where I previously battled two cranes. One great thing about the ship was that it was another great place to determine which party members you want to use. Unfortunately, I found the ship hard to navigate. I was headed for Narshe, but finding it was tricky (and even the map on the lower right corner wasn't much help). Now cutting ahead to Narshe is where I meet Banon and Arvis. Something about opening a gate to Esper World is mentioned. I guess this means that Espers and Humans will come together and battle an empire or something. But then cutting ahead to something that I totally regret doing: Grabbing the Gold Hairpin. (sigh) I however have no way to undo this. Who knows what'll happen in light of this mistake.

That's all for now.

Don't feel too bad as you can undo said mistake later on in the game. The Hairpin is a great accessory to have though.

Okay, time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So the main focus this time is taking care of a sick person named Meranda in Mobilz. Basically you can buy stuff for 500G to send to her in the house to the right of Meranda's house. But here's the stupid thing (IMO), the game requires you to go to the shop north of Meranda's house and talk to the owner for NOTHING! But by doing that, whatever you bought will have been sent to Meranda. But doing this was all worth it. Especially for the Tintinabar.

That's all for now.

I'm not entirely sure why the delivery of letters progresses like that. It is kinda strange.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So, this time I went to the auction house at Jidoor. I thought the auction would go on forever. I only bought one thing because for the others I was either outbid or didn't have enough GP. But after that, it was back to the world map where I spent a long time trying to find Tzen (and not even the small map in the corner was enough help). Next time, I will attempt to find Tzen.

That's all for now.
