Confirmed:

1) Editing existing levels to add checkpoints (or any changes) means uploading a completely new level.

2) Level must be cleared from start, as well as checkpoint.

3) New official levels and Event courses.

4) Event courses provide Mystery Mushroom Costume after 1 clear.

5) Power up upgrades: Fire Flower + Mushroom, or Cape / Leaf + Mushroom, but not Mystery Mushroom.

In my out-of-ideas state of mind, I decided to see what happened if I made up a level as I went. And by the way, this level has checkpoints!


By the way, while it's cool that the 1.20 update introduces checkpoints to Mario Maker, there is a bit of bad news. I don't know if you're aware of the invisible platform glitch, but there was a way to make invisible platforms. WAS. Nintendo went and fixed it.

And you know what? There's a lot of levels online that were using it. I have one, myself. Which means, for all the effort Nintendo has gone through to make sure there's no impossible levels on their servers, fixing this glitch has made it so there are now impossible levels on their servers.

Oh, I picked the Nintendolife version because the Miiverse version was big and fuzzy.

I saw you had reuploaded it when I went hunting for its level code. I don't even remember what suggestion it was that I made. =P

While playing the level, you commented on using musical note blocks.
Now this level has musical note blocks, and some other flourishes too.
