I would suggest editing out battles (with the exception of boss battles) if you don't have much to say in the middle of them. One reason is that RPGs have a lot of random battles and you can have more content that engages a viewer. Redundancy should usually be removed because it adds nothing to the video really. Just my suggestion.

I usually don't cut out battles unless I'm doing off-camera grinding. Because I'm certain that no one will want to watch an episode with just random battles in it, but that's just me. Anyway, here's Part 3.

Nobody will want to watch an episode where you're fighting a bunch of random battles and not saying anything, either. ;)
You've edited videos, before. Just go into your editor, hunt down the battles where nothing of interest is really happening, and cut them out.
A good example of how to do that is in this video of mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... r-IQ&t=187

And again, leave boss battles in the video. They're too important to edit out.

My most recent Suikoden 3 videos have all random battles edited out. It helps smooth out the gameplay. I'm honestly not trying to be critical of you. I'm just trying to help make your videos more presentable and not filled with redundancy and without much commentary in that redundancy. In my Suikoden 3 videos, I've cut out at least 15-20 minutes of random battles per video.

I'll give this a shot while I edit Part 4. If it works, I'll keep doing it for the remainder for this LP.

Leave out the "such and such time later" stuff. All you need is a good transition from just before the battle starts to after it ends. The screen that shows how many seconds later just kinda ruins flow. It should all just flow.

That's a thing I do on my channel whenever I cut unnecessary footage. I started doing it back when I LP'ed Super Mario 64 back in Spring 2012.

Any particular reason? It's kind of jarring to me when I see it.

Let's just say it was something I thought of doing back then. After a while, the idea seemed to stick. And I like doing it.

...Just for the record, the reason why I showed the time in that video I linked was to emphisize just how terrible that room I was exploring was.
