Just a little FYI. I got the new Game Informer issue a few days back and it seems Squenix wants to go back a bit.

They are re-making/porting Final Fantasy Tactics, which is around the same area that FF12 took place... Ivalice.

For those of you who remember the game, they are adding scense. And I don't mean normal scenes, but cutscenes outside the games normal engine.

Another addition is that Balthier from FF12 will be a playable character and will play an important roll, somewhat. Also there will be a new job class...the original Onion Knight.

Finally, since it's for PSP, it can get out on the net and you will be able to play multi-player... so those of you who think that their team is ubber godly can prove it.

Thought this info would be interesting for some, so I just tacked it on here instead of making it it's own thread.

That makes what, 4 FF games centered in Ivalice? Tactics, Tactics Advance, 12... and wasn't 11 also in Ivalice? I don't know =x

I just hope Squeenix doesn't set with the Ivalice world for the FF series for all. They've been experimenting with this whole "same scenario for more than one game" idea for some time now (since FFX-2), and man... if this continues, the FF series will definetly loose much of its flavour.

Nah, FF11 is some strange name that starts with a 'D' and I'm too lazy to look it up.

And while there are at least 3 titles around Ivalice, none of which are directly sequels to eachother such as X was to X-2. And to boot, the storylines were diffrent in all 3. They may be linked several years down the line, but the time diffrence is so far off, I'd hardly call it a sequel.

But I was talking about the scenario ;)
I really can't say much about the stroyline since I haven't completed any of the Ivalice games (though I own 2 of them, hell yeah).

At least, one of the biggest upsides of Final Fantasy was seeing how you went from Golbez to Kefka to Sephiroth to Sin, how you went from Crystals to Espers to Ancients to... well, Sin. Y'know. How you had a world that was almost punk-gothic (Migdar) in contrast to the cheery, colorful Spira. I think that is one of the factors that drove the FF series healthy and strong through almost 20 titles (counting the parallel ones).

That's a factor I do not want to miss >.<
