Well, the only wanted to recreate the ten most memorable scenes in the game, not the whole game itself. At least, to my understanding.

Do me a favor... take the time to fill that out. I'd honestly appriciate it.

I was the 9455th person to sign.

Chrono Trigger has been the best game I've ever played. I was hurt that Sqenix would cancel something that was more of a complement that anything else. They should be flattered that a group of fans would put so much effort to relive something they truly care about. Then I hear that Chrono Break is a bust as well? I'm really disappointed, as a supporter and a fan of Squenix. You guys should be more worried about the fans you are making these games for instead of all these stupid policies. You wouldn't have a company if it wasn't for us.

Here's my little tribute to CT resurrection. Not that great and rather jumbled... but I kind of like it anyway.

For those of you who didn't know... there was a short OVA for Chrono Trigger. This is not for the faint of heart as some CT fans call it the worst blasphemy to the title ever. Though there are some people out there who enjoyed it. So, if you dare...

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0oRpCjKoPps"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0oRpCjKoPps" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Also, I posted this before... but we didn't have a thread for CT at the time. Hopefully there will be a bit more attention to it as I find this quite a wonderful video.

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/X0Vk2jFNVQI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/X0Vk2jFNVQI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

I am seriously looking to see this live if I ever get a chance. The orchestra is called Play! and tour the US every now and then. I missed them in Texas by about two weeks. They do alot of other game tracks as well.

Here's their site: http://www.play-symphony.com/

I watched the first few seconds of that OVA, but once the scary Nu appears, then it's all over for me =x I'm seriously gonna have nightmares with that thing...

As for the orchestra, it's really really awesome ^_^ you showed me that once. W00t. But I honestly think the tracks from CC are more memorable than the ones from CT... to each their own, I guess.

Bump again.

I guess I just want to see if I can't stur up some more chrono talk around here. I guess because of the Play concert in a few weeks and such.

Also, I believe I actually found one of the people who worked on re-making Chrono Trigger in the Ressurrection project that Square shut down. Here's the remake of the intro theme from the program he used.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ERad8EjGMio&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ERad8EjGMio&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

And here's a video I made about how the project got shut down...

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TP8xdE_uZbE&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TP8xdE_uZbE&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

And this is just a generic CT AMV I made a ways back.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6NzDU6Zrgno&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6NzDU6Zrgno&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

I doubt that even if there were Avagrato's number in signatures in that petition, that there would be any change.

*sigh*

So... favorite party in CT?

Crono - Marle - Ayla ... for the most part.

I LOVE THE CHRONO SERIES.

*breathes*

Seriously. I loved Chrono Trigger. I loved Chrono Cross in a different manner. What I wouldn't give to have a working Chrono Cross again(my second disc died from scratches over time).

I want Chrono Break. I REALLY DO.

But all I know Square-Enix is capable of these days are 50 DW spinoff games, FFXIII A, B, C, Uninteresting female lead versions, and more remakes of Final Fantasies.

Seriously... I can't be the only one who wants to see the Chrono series get another good game!

Also, on a side-note. WTF at Musashi on the PS2. They like, butchered that series with that game. So I'd also like to see another good Musashi.

And another good Mana! I heard Children of Mana on the DS was decent, but the PS2 one, once again, sucked. Restarting every chapter of the game? Reallll smart.

Reminds me of Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. Utter failure. Could use a new BoF from Capcom too, but all they wanna produce are Mega Man and Resident Evil.:p

todays youth dont seam to care about plot. two of my 2nd cousins where playing a game when i was over for thanksgiving and they where just whirling through the text, didnt even read a single word. its all about fancy game play and good graphics.

the older folks, or rather the more refined gaming community (insert monocle stance here), likes the good stories over all else but those days are probably over. when was the last time we saw a good game story?

has anyone noticed the maturity level of games dropping? doesnt it seem like games these days are geared toward extreme youth rather then the teen rating they have? most stories seem to revolve around sappy team teletubby themes, lame over done generic kindergarten plots, or use ridiculess amounts of child languages and avoid all mature plot ideas or hide them deeply.

i like my plots rich, my games mature (not the blood shooting out of arteries but for real world darker concepts), and my characters developed (no their breasts perverts). seems game companies want to attract the younger audiences with their rpgs rather then aim for the mature guys out there, i guess they figure we will buy it anyway. i dont think ive seen a mature rpg title in like forever.

Nocturne, Xenosaga, Persona... those are titles that would probably break away from stereotype you are talking about.

And I agree with Fay... on everything she said. One of the things I think it may be is that developers are going TOO far outside of the box to make something original. Like, for example, Dragon Quarter's percentage bar that can't fill up before the end of the game (and goes up quicker if you use Ryu's abilities). You can pretty much do New Game + from any point in the game. So if you game over too soon in the game... starting over to get back up to that point isn't all too difficult.

But extremely uneccessary. And the storyline was the worst out of the Bof series. 3 and 4 were the best by far. And the Mana series? I stopped after Legends.

It seems developers are too scared to go back and make a more traditional RPG. Hell, they can completely rip off an already used battle system... and as long as it was a good one, I'd be more than willing to get said game. I'd LOVE to play another game that used materia.... I'd have no issue with that what-so-ever. Chrono Break? The best think they could do would be to almost perfectly sumulate the battle system in Chrono Trigger. (I didn't much like the element slot system in Chrono Cross for the simple fact that they pretty muck blew the techs out of the water. Over a hundred techs with 7 people in CT and a mere handful with 45 people in CC? Um... yeah. dumb.)

But all that probably doesn't matter. Kind of like you said Karr... the younger generation of gamers coming up behind us would rather fly through the text like you'd shuffle a deck of cards than sit and enjoy the storyline. Though, it's always funny when they turn around to ask you were to go... because then you get to say, "well, you should have read the text, you retard." Which forces them to look up online. Maybe repeating this process will break these young-uns of such bad gamer habbits.

But you want to know what really grinds my gears? The fact that there were whispers of Chrono Break... talks of getting the original creators of Chrono Trigger/Cross together to make a thrid entry. And you know what? They DID get them all back together. Hironobu Sakaguchi, Kazuhiko Aoki, and Nobuo Uematsu came back together to make a game. But was it the most obvious title that everyone thought? No... it was f*cking Blue Dragon for Xbox. They went through the effort of getting the team back together and it wasn't even for Break.
